Also, what organism do you have Olor? And what have they been giving you drug wise?

I am going to get my culture results after work today.

First they tried me on macroblox or something and now I am on ciproflox (1000 mg once a day)

I am feeling really gross I'm starting to worry I have something generally wrong with my kidneys - bad taste in my mouth, really fatigued. Maybe it is just the cipro.

know what is weird though - my boob pain has almost totally disappeared since going on the cipro - is it just coincidence do you think? I saw two docs who both said "just horomones" but seems odd that after ages of my boobs aching that suddenly that would just end when I take an antibiotic.

Neither of those things could be caused by your kidneys. The bad taste is definitely the cipro, and the fatigue could be that (I'm not familiar with all the side effects) or just you being tired/sick/something else.

I know we've talked about your breast pain before, but remind me; is it constant or does it fluctuate with your menstrual cycle? Either way, the most likely answer is hormones. As for the cipro relieving that pain, I agree that it seems too timely to be a coincidence, but I don't think an antibiotic would relieve that unless it were caused by something bacterial, which there's no way it could be. I suppose it's possible the cipro is having some additional effect (possibly reducing certain hormone levels, but maybe something else), but I don't really have an answer one way or the other for that. I guess just be glad it's gone for now, and see if it comes back after you stop taking it?

you rock, yes it fluctuates. my culture samples showed I do have a uti.. brilliant. Cipro doesn't seem to be working though.

Getting blood work tomorrow, going to see if I have something else causing the fatigue. Will put my mind at rest anyway

You might have some anemia (usually iron deficiency) or something that is totally unrelated. But some lab work would easily detect that, so hopefully you get some answers there. Did they tell you what organism you have?

Also, for your reading pleasure, you probably have this: fibrocystic disease. It's actually quite common.

they didn't say which ... I could press them for that next time. They did say that "I had what they thought I had" and that cipro is "the right drug for it"

Speaking of which, I have some pee in a bottle I need to deliver to the lab across the street now
