...let my roommates talk me into building an MTG deck. Ordered my first set of cards today(played with some they already had) and can't get over the fact that I spent more than twice as much on shipping as I did on cards. Smiley: laugh

Nice...

I stopped playing MTG after the Ravnica set, and it seems like I made the right choice to end there Smiley: tongue
Getting into some major power creep now. Which was there from the start of the game, really. But around Mirrodin is when it started getting pretty bad.

If you talk to my roommates, apparently(to them at least), it's all about exploiting strange *** combinations that allow for you to utterly destroy your opponents in painful and embarrassing ways(Manabarbs with some card that you can use to be exempt from its affectEdit: Sundial of the Infinite, for instance).

Oh, and since you're awake, look what just happened in my town. Smiley: laugh

If you like Aggravated Assault, you'd get a kick out of World at War. Same thing but it works for two turns, if I'm reading it correctly.

Aggravated Assault is an Enchantment, so I'd be able to take as many combat phases as I want.

And you weren't kidding about power creep. Had a game where I had something like 96 health and got beat down in a single turn. Sadly, I would have won the next turn, too, if I had just lasted long enough to manage to pop off those two War Reports and Ajani's -6 ability...woulda left me with a 114/114 token creature, assuming he'd managed to get me down to 1 health.

So it is. I was thinking of something else.

Edit: Relentless Assault was what I was thinking.

You have no idea how funny that is to me considering that was the first MTG card I knew absolutely anything about.

That's a funny way to spell Goblin Grenade.

That would be really funny with a Goblin Arsonist.

It's even funnier as a third turn play, dropping three of them at once. The look on your opponent's face is priceless.

Smiley: lol

I've no idea what edition one I have (to lazy to go find out), but every time I run into a few friends who still play MTG they always ask if I want to sell that card yet.

If you're talking about the Wrath of God card, you should check the version. If it's the Alpha or Beta version, it's currently listed as well over $100 on one of the websites I frequent.
