I view the downloading as trying the product out before I buy it (that, and actually getting to watch it on time if it's a new anime). If I really like it, I will go out and buy it just to support the industry (if I have the money).

I know that if I allow myself to download something, odds are good I'll never buy it. It's a matter of knowing my own limitations.

Ehh... What about the fact that if you download stuff, you'll be exposed to some series that you might never see otherwise. And then you'll buy KAWAII figurines of the character and end up supporting a show you would have never ended up supporting if you hadn't downloaded it.

Really, it just makes me feel like I'm helping support the industry just that little bit. Sure, it's not much, but it's something.
You can just split the difference and download a bunch of crap, and attempt to buy it if you end up liking it.

To be honest, actually buying stuff will probably be a rarity for me, but it's just a suggestion for you. ~I do plan on buying A Game of Thrones, however, also.

I would support the anime industry by buying stuff and DVDs if any of it went to the people making the anime. Instead the money goes to the localization company, and they do a ****** job 99% of the time so my money stays in my pocket and I torrent my shows 100% legally according to the Supreme Court.

I use Netflix and Crunchyroll to watch things I'm not sure I'm ready to pay for. I'm more likely to buy things in that situation because I don't have the download available always and forever afterward.

While you have a partial point, the localization company does pay the original folks for the license to localize it, and the more money they make, the more likely they'll be to buy more licenses for other shows.

Maybe in Canada, but here I'm pretty sure it's considered just the same as downloading MP3s(which, to be fair, I'm guilty of doing when I can't find any way to get ahold of a song I want that doesn't involve paying exorbitant fees to import, I have my limits).

Hellz yea. And the 2nd one.
Also his reading of that not-so-much-a-children's-book book.

If anything, Canada is superior despite producing you.
