I have this awfully painful speech class. Not because it's difficult for me to do any sort of public speaking (as I'm finding more and more I'm actually unusually comfortable about it as long as I can keep my mind from locking up) but because the assignments are lamer than Lamie McLamerton.
This week, I need to create a "How-to" speech.
However, I'm not too sure what I should present, because I don't have any access to technological aids (i.e. computers or TV's) and beyond that, all I'm good at is drinking beer, and eating pizza.

I don't have the cookware (mostly the pie pans) to create a pie.
I was thinking something artistic, but really... all I know how to do is Maya and Photoshop and video compositing.

You could do "How to take a partial derivative", and see if you can just BS it above your teacher's math level. Unless you actually do know how to take a partial derivative, in which case you can put the class to sleep with that.

Can you make origami cranes (or be able to learn really fast)? That's a classic. You just pass out paper and let people follow along. Very simple step-by-step thing. Even better if you can do more than cranes.
Since you know beer, you could do a how-to on selecting a beer and the appropriate glass. Also pouring said beer into glass, I've found that so few people know the proper technique for that.

I took a Group Speech class and it was easy as pie. All the work for that class was done in groups.
We had to do this "how-to" speech as well. I'm sure we were not the 1st to do it, and I'm sure we were not the last to do it...
But we did a "How-to" on "How to make a speech."
Epic right?
We got an B+ because the 4th member didn't do jack.
You could do a How-to on "How to sleep"
