Citizen's Arrest!

A woman and her daughter came in here a few minutes ago.

Customer: There's no way your rates can go as low as $79, is there?
Me: Do you work for the federal government?
Customer: I work for God's government.
Me: Well, unfortunately, our government rate is the only rate that low and is only applicable to federal government employees.
Customer: Well how about that place across the highway. That place a Patel?
Me: A what?
Customer: You know, does an Indian own it?
Me: I have absolutely no idea.
Customer: Well, I just ask because I bet their rates are better but I don't want to deal with one of those people.
Me: Sorry, I have not looked into the race of the person who owns my competition.
Customer: Well, you're no help. God's government not being honored for the government rate and you don't know anything about your competition.
Me: Sorry.
Customer: You will be. God's government is better than that one in Washington.

Then they discuss staying at the other hotel across the street because it's part of a rewards program they're in and leave.

In hindsight, I should have told them that God's government can get on the federal government rate as soon as the pope has his people negotiate a rate with our company. Would have given me a great segue into mentioning that I'm Catholic, which probably would have gotten them out of my hair sooner.

To be honest. That's partially edited. I removed the redundant and boring parts of the conversation(as in, she mentioned the God's government and her daughter also asked about the Patel thing). The worst part is that the daughter, who appeared to be about 20, was hhhhoooooottttt.

Why must the super hot ones be crazy?

Edit: Not that I had a shot or anything, just saying.

I forgot to mention this earlier, but I actually do have a friend from my undergrad whose last name is Patel and his parents do own several motels. Stereotypes are sadly almost always based in fact after all...

They wouldn't be stereotypes any other way.

We have Indians running our local Days in, and other than the overnight guy, all of the employees are family.

Some stereotypes don't hold any water, IMO. I've never really seen the basis for the 'polish are stupid' one.

Well it's true if only because polish is a subset of people, and people are stupid is one of the most accurate stereotypes ever.

OK I have a few questions:
a) Did this actually happen?
b) Was the woman crazy or just ******* with you?
c) Was her daughter cute?

"God's government," wow. Mixed in with flagrant racism at that!

c) Was her daughter cute?
a)Yes. There was a longer conversation there, but I cut it short because it was either repetitive or boring.
b)I do not believe she was just ******* with me, though I acknowledge the possibility. She gave no indication that she was anything other than completely serious.
c)
