Stick with a cheap knockoff of a cheap knockoff instead of a cheap knockoff?

What's the last cheap knock off?

And in what way are they similar, aside from being from the same genre?

Ummmmmmmm............ for srs kirbeh? you hit buttons in time with notes that move down a track and those notes play sounds in the song, you play bad music stops.... I could list more similarities but I am lazy.

I said aside from being in the same genre. Hitting buttons to a rhythm is part of the genre.

I'm not really seeing your point.

Is CoD a rip off of Doom? Depends how vague you wanna be I guess.

No doom was hardly the original military combat style FPS. But CoD is a rip off of Counter strike which is probly a cheap rip off of some other military style combat game. Doom is more a cheap rip off of Duke nukem or potentially viceversa

To an extent...

We can go around pointing things out that rip off something else, no matter how slightly, or we can just say "@#%^ that".

Or you can admit that DJ Max and Guitar hero/rockband are pretty much the same thing. Either way Beatmania came before either.

I could, but what good would that do?

And no, they aren't the same game.

They aren't the same game, they are pretty much the same game. One game is clearly better, and the other requires you to strum some rocker switch in time with the note in addition to hitting the notes on the controller.

Well, they are different enough that I wouldn't call them the same thing.

If you wanna keep being retarded, go right ahead.

They are pretty much (as good as, akin to....) the same thing. It's like if you had identical twins and one dyed their hair black the other was a brunette. Close but still some differences.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Patapon, Elite Beat Agents, and Bust-A-Groove are games from the same genre as Beatmania. DJ MAX, Guitar Hero, and Rock band are knock offs of Beatmania and in some cases each other. If you can not see the difference that is your fault not ours.

Now for a brief history lesson:

Beatmania came first, it was rather successful (still is) and seeing its success a certain South Korean company decided they wanted in on some of that action. Thus was born, DJ MAX. DJ MAX was a cheap knockoff of Beatmania, this undeniable, the only thing that set it apart from the original was the addition of online multi-player. That said it was made well enough and at that time free so it did well. Some time later came a North American company. Seeing the success that was Beatmania and DJ MAX, they decided to make their own knockoff and they did, this was Guitar Hero, its defining feature was the addition of a rocker switch that you would hit in addition to the normal row of buttons. Again it was rather successful. Later still seeing the potential profit of slight variation on a game the same North American company decided to release yet another knockoff, this was Rock band.
