Goddamn heartburn. And none of the stores that are terribly close are open. I mean, if I really needed to, I could walk down to the 7/11 on Denny, but that would involve walking around at night, and I don't necessarily live in the best part of town... so it's a bit dicy.

Nope. I've gotta be up in about an hour, so I've been trying to take small naps.

I don't recommend baking soda, because its effectiveness depends heavily on what is causing his heartburn. In fact, in many people (including those with GERD, people who are hypertensive, and others), baking soda can actually make the condition worse. So I'd go with a different antacid.

When it's baking soda, nothing, or get stabbed walking to the store, I'd tend to reach for the baking soda.

However, due to several idiotic episodes involving eating chili dogs an hour before bedtime, I always have antacids in the house. Hopefully Catt will learn his lesson as well.

Oddly, I can eat the spiciest of spicy foods without getting heartburn (mouth and tongue are a different story), but certain other foods give it to me practically every time. The greasy low-grade corn tortillas they use in those 50-per-box taquitos light me up like a gasolined anthill on fire, which is a shame because I luuuuurve taquitos.

Strawberries with Heavy Cream make it all better, though (if you happen to have them on-hand at the time).
