Who buys a smartphone and doesn't sign up for the unlimited data package? That's just asking to be overcharged.

I didn't know it was even possible to use a smartphone without the unlimited data package. Because I never bothered to check. Because it would be stupid.

Spoilers Canada has the highest rates on telecom in the world (other than internet where we lose to aussieland.) There is no such thing as an unlimited package ever, it is pay for use with tiered prices. Realistically compared to my old cell phone I added 1 gig data and 50 more minutes a month, extended evenings and weekends, and unlimited text and mms for 5 bucks per bill, if I go over 1 gig I get billed for the 1-2 gig price which is 20 bucks more. Anything over 5 gigs is $105 +5 cents a megabit.

My buddy has an Iphone and he says that AT&T no longer has an unlimited plan, either. His 2 gig rate is $25.

AT&T stopped providing unlimited data plans shortly after the 3GS came out, iirc. I'm still on my unlimited data plan, but thanks to wifi I haven't even used 2 gb in the last 10 months (that's total). I should probably go to a lower plan Smiley: lol.

Well averaging it out so far it looks like I use 7ish mb a day so realistically most months I should never hit that 1 gig limit unless I go retardo overboard on streaming videos or using the GPS.
