Is there anything you ever find yourselves rereading or rewatching quite often? Things that you just don't get tired of no matter how many times you see them? I find myself rereading Angel Densetsu tonight and it occurs to me that if there are things you folks read or watch multiple times, those would likely be good candidates for me to throw at the top of my "to watch" list.
I re-read the Star Wars: X-wing series every once in a while. I like the way Michael A. Stackpole writes I guess.
As far as re-watching, I guess I've only seen K-on! and Elfen Lied more than once, though I feel like re-watching Toradora, Baccano!, Clannad and Haibane Renmei sometime.
When I was sick, Beast Wars video tapes were a comfort show. I've seen Disney's The Sword and the Stone one too many times. I rarely rewatch anime, but I've seen Evangelion about three times over and Twelve Kingdoms twice.
Oh, and I watched Cars four times in a row while waiting in line for the Wii. The wrong line I might add.
I've watched the Ah! My Goddess movie over 100 times. The series I haven't been through quite as many times, but I've probably done that 10 or so times. I've recently been rewatching Read Or Die (showing some friends who haven't seen it before), and am going to be picking up Slayers again soon. I highly recommend all of those. I'm meaning to go through Fullmetal Alchemist again in the near future, but I don't have time for it at the moment.
Several of the animu titles I have on DVD I've watched OVER NINETHOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAND times. Especially the first three seasons of The Slayers. Also, I watched Disney's The Little Mermaid so many times when I was younger that I had the entire movie memorized verbatim.
I've been rereading Berserk on and off ever since I got it. The artwork just shames everything else I've ever come across. The guy needs to hurry up and finish though, at the rate volumes are getting published he's gonna kick the bucket before he finishes the story.

It is true, they are planning on continuing the anime. But how the hell can you like that ending? It makes no sense whatsoever.
The ending made perfect sense. It was just a hateful place to end it all.
I had to wikipedia to find out more about this new anime thing.

In September 2010, a wraparound jacket band on volume 35 of the manga announced a new anime project. [3] The project will be headed by a theatrical film in 2011, as part of an overall effort to adopt the entire manga
Really? I loved how the anime ended. It's definitely one of my favorite endings ever.
Word on the street is there's going to be another Berserk anime production in the near future, so you may get your wish after all.

The bad guys win!
After watching an endless stream of gaudy "the power of friendship" cliche saturated drivel, it was nice to see something going against the grain and showing the logical conclusion of what happens when you get pitted against cosmic horrors from the abyss. You @#%^ing lose.

Admittedly, it's been several years since I last watched it, but I don't remember them getting pitted against cosmic horrors from the abyss until the last ~3 episodes. I totally agree with you on the sentiment, it's very refreshing to see the good guys lose for once; it just seemed to come out of nowhere to me. Did I just miss something earlier on in the series, or am I misremembering something?

Well I think Zodd showed up around the midway point, maybe a little before. They definitely dropped some foreshadowing that something was brewing. I'll agree that it does seem a bit abrupt, but I think some of that is the omission of the skeleton knight who actually shows up right after Guts sets out on his own.(It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure they skipped that in the anime). The Eclipse didn't really come out of nowhere but yes the presentation of it was probably paced incorrectly. That still didn't make it any less satisfying for me though. The good guys definitely need to lose more often, otherwise we'll never break out of the happy saccharine bullsh*t parade that has been the anime industry for the last several years.
For serious though, the ending makes Berserk one of the few works in which I recommend people watch the anime first and hold off on reading the manga. The two complement each other nicely.

Late to the party, but I've probably played through Tales of Symphonia 20 times at least. It's incredibly cheesy, but the battle system is fun, and I like the characters.
Also, I pretty much never get tired of Dexter, regardless of how much I watch it.

Well it was clear from the start that everything that was being told was not going to end well, considering you start with Guts having the demon mark or whatever, the gunhand, and both eyes. I'm going from memory, so bear with me if I'm forgetting things. My real problems with the anime is that the supernatural stuff at the end almost comes out of nowhere after it being a relatively straightforward anime for 90% of it. My biggest issue with the ending is that it didn't tie in with the opening episode, really. If it was going to end that way, fine. However, it should have tied in with present-day Guts better, IMO. I also really hated the random tentacle raep.
Besides, the most interesting storylines happen after he's been torn down. I just feel cheated with the anime, having been told the whole backstory but not continuing.
I really don't mind "bad guys win" endings, I just think that it ended poorly for a single-season run. They could have obviously tied it in with the current version of Guts and still left it wide open for a second season or as a stand-alone anime.
I really really appreciate endings in which the good guys win and lose all at the same time. Read Perdido Street Station for an excellent example of this. Of course, I prefer to not go through downers all the time, but it is refreshing once in a while.
