You should really make less painful options for Option 3, since it's always the only right answer.

I figured I'd put the silly answer as three, so that way any serious answers would stand out.

I gave a serious answer. I will always recommend ibuprofen over acetaminophen (tylenol), but I won't go on my rant about it. Smiley: lol

I also always go for ibuprofen over acetaminophen, though I don't have a good reason for it.

I usually choose based on the type of pain. For headaches, it's Aspirin > Aleve > Tylenol > Ibuprofen(it's faster to type name brands, for explanation of my laziness in the future). For muscle aches(especially with swelling), it's generally ibuprofen > aspirin > Aleve > Tylenol. For general aches(like last night), I just pick at random. Today I felt like making a poll.

Trade names are fine. I use generic names both out of habit (those are what we learn primarily) and so there's no confusion since there are generic forms of all these available. As for types of pain, I think some might work better for certain things, but I don't know what those are. I think a lot depends on the individual.

I choose Ibuprofen because my grandfather died of Tylenol overdose, whereas my cousin took half a bottle of Advil and just had to get her stomach pumped.

I rarely take anything for pain. When I do, it's usually naproxen.

About the same here. For me, it's just easier keeping one bottle of stuff in the house and at work. I stick with naproxen, because my doctor recommended for an occasional pinched nerve that I get in my elbow, since it's an anti inflammatory, too.

I always figured Tylenol was for muscle pain and stuff, Advil was for headache and toothaches.
That's how I use 'em anyway.

Can we all just agree that Vicodin and Percoset are great for recreation?

There's nothing wrong with acetaminophen as long as you keep it under 4 grams a day. And really, if you're using more than that, you should consider trying something stronger.

I'll drink to that.

Also, Valium is terrible. Never again.

I recommend Lyrica, just because it effects the nerves, not the muscles, and it's awesome!

You're mostly right. As long as you don't take one more than every 4 hours it's okay (which most people wouldn't ever do, and like you said, at that point just get something stronger), but you also can't have alcohol in your system when you take it. They combine in your liver and own the **** out of it. The main issue I have with it is simply that it's an unnecessary risk when there are multiple other options.
