That's actually another example of uneven enforcement of rules resulting in someone being banned.

So, he ended up being the one to stop over and over, while I generally got away with it.

Once Kao, or any admin for that matter, has had to tend to a number of complaints about you, you're pretty much on his **** list. That's just how it is.
I almost got banned for linking the "what" tag on Gelbooru, good times.
