Braving "Snowmaggedon" to get to work.

Silly weather people. The yard has like an inch of snow on it and the roads don't even look snowy yet. Smiley: laugh

It was worse than I was expecting. The roads were icy and the NMDoT hadn't done crap yet to de-ice them. People were driving faster in hopes of getting out of the snow faster.

But I got to work safely. Hopefully they'll have gotten their **** together and cleared the roads by morning. Additionally, they better close the schools for the day. I really don't want to share the roads with those idiots when I'm driving home(I live a few blocks away from a high school).

They're on a 2 hour delay. Since I plan on going home from work a bit late(possibly stay an extra half hour then stop and pick up groceries to kill a bit more time for ice to be cleared), I should be getting home well before they start going in.

Well, I didn't make it home. I got stuck on a hill, backtracked and left my car in a parking lot, and am currently staying with my parents for the day after my dad came and got me in his 4WD Toyota.

It has been a "fun" day.

Oh, I suppose all that whale blubber you eat and heat your home with is made of snow, too.

I used my sister's laptop. It's a Mac, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices. Smiley: tongue

My phone sucks(clamshell style Samsung without a keyboard). There's no way I'd even try to access Zam with it. Also, with the rolling blackouts, I had to conserve phone charge.

a lot of snow really fast...and...Thunder!

It is like a Thunder storm, but instead of rain you get the frozen stuff.

And Snowmaggedon was a mess here in my part of Illinois. We got like 6 inches of ice, then 2 inches of snow in the same day. Then it snowed like another 4 inches yesterday morning...and they say more is coming XD
I'm to old for snow.

They're calling for us to get hit pretty hard on wednesday night, and I'm supposed to have a test on Thursday. I might get an extra day or two to study. Smiley: grin (Though having to come in on Saturday to take it would be pretty lame.)

Shouldn't you be mentally preparing to work weekends and long days?

I already do if you count studying as work (it's sure as hell mentally exhausting). This is actually the last year that I even get snow days; I have to go in anyway third and fourth year (it's the same concept; getting used to dealing with inclement weather because sick people don't get snow days).

I know studying is exhausting, but so is pulling a 16 hour shift.
