Is this actually a game I could go out and buy without having to import it from Japan? Additionally, is it a game that I would be able to understand without learning Japanese?

Because sometimes I feel like playing odd games, and often during those times Harvest Moon gets boring.

The English translation is available on Steam for $20. It is so worth it.

This could very well be my first purchase from Steam.

Yep. Just be careful with it... if you aren't careful it has the tendency to make you spend more money than you intended to. But they have some great sales sometimes too, so just be responsible with your money. Smiley: laugh

Indeed it is, although they are porting all their catalog to Linux and mac environments as sort of an ongoing thing. Recettear should work for all you appleoverpriced crap fanboys wanna-be hipsters out there.

On the first play through I really only ran into issues with the last payment (500k) the others were fairly easy to get if you focussed on upping your merchant level properly and didn't waste too many days on failed dungeon attempts or dungeon attempts in general.

(I was 4k short on my first play through, it sucked pretty hard cus I would have had louis's true card which while not really important to get I need from a completionist point of view.)

The final payment was the easiest Smiley: frown

Despite losing liek 100k on some weapons i bought towards the end (as soon as i got back to the shop, they were half price, and didn't go back to normal until half way through the last day, by which time i already sold most of them), i still finished with just over 700k. I made 350k on the last day alone.
