Yeah, no weakened crap either unless you're too lazy to run back to your corpse and ressurect at the graveyard in which case you are useless for 10 minutes.

So 10 minutes instead of 5. It's the same thing in ffxi Smiley: glare

edit: except wow's is 2x longer, and in ffxi you're not entirely useless while weakened. Or even sort of useless depending on job. Whm, smn, rng, etc can perform their jobs just fine while weakened, with only a small risk of dying again if they're not careful.

Note that it's only if you can't be bothered to run back to your corpse, which takes about 30 seconds on average.
#30 Dec 24 2010 at 9:28 AM Rating: Decent
Note that either way, weakness doesn't make anyone useless in ffxi.

So I hit 10, and I am leaning towards Frost specialization, because I like being able to freeze targets' movement. However, I really don't want to summon an elemental. I really want nothing to do with pets at all. Smiley: frown

Also Rog, there's a whole site for WoW filled with elitists like you (and me)
You can get banned there for things like asking dumb questions or even for answering dumb questions.

Anyways, you should read EJ's forum rules.
And if you break them you even get a hateful PM and a post in what basically is the YOU SUCK pile of the forum to ridicule you.

Not reading here obviously.
I haven't really spent much time on EJ in ages so I was reading banhammer posts.

I haven't used the Jump button at all so far. I completely forgot it existed until I finally came across the first other player I've seen, and he was bouncing around across the screen. I had seen shouts in Undercity, but hadn't come across another PC until now.

Try taking the zeppelin from Undercity to Ogrimmar. (right zep tower if you're standing with your back to undercity)
You'll see a couple of people there, specifically near the auction house and the bank.

Also lots of dragons.

When soloing, you can just leave him on defensive and he'll take care of himself, mostly, but he will give you the option to range freeze enemies with one of his abilities as well.

Yeah, I went with Frost. Also, I got a wand from a quest, and it took me like 20 minutes to figure out that I had to add "Shoot" to my bar.

Definitely doesn't look like I'm going to make it past the 10-day trial.

Early on(at least before Cata pre patches), the wand did as much if not more DPS than your normal spells(especially those OP enchanting wands). Not sure if that's changed, but it's a solid weapon til like level 18 or so.

Then it's for stats or OOM.

I have just been opening with Freeze, spamming Frostbolt, and then if it gets close and I am not going to kill it before it kills me, I Frost Nova, run away, and spam Frostbolt more.

What I really like is that I haven't had to farm money at all. I've been getting plenty from just the **** I have to kill for quests and on the way to the next area that I have been able to buy whatever I need, be it bags or gear or spells. NPC gear actually seems somewhat useful. I haven't used the AH yet, because the search wasn't working for some reason when I tried.
