So I've had a new boss (Store Manager) for about three days, and he apparently already hates me.

He doesn't think I work fast enough.

He doesn't think I do much of anything, really.

He didn't like that I had a section empty (stock went out of code so I brought in a different product; the truck with the new product on it was late) until noon on a Monday in a store that only does any kind of money on weekends.

He didn't like that he told me to clean the egg section, and I didn't do it because my shift had been supposed to be over for a half hour when he told me to do it.

I am considering actually not doing anything for a week, just so he can see how much I actually do, but then I guess he'd have grounds to fire me, and I need to put in two more months before I can collect unemployment again.

I decided that I'm not going to stay late or come in early anymore at all, regardless of the condition of my department.

Not quite, there's a tiny chance that it's entertaining drama and if it isn't I'll just stop reading.

OK.

New manager tells me to do frozen foods today. I start working there, making it look good. I find pizza that went out of code (expired) in 2008. I start pulling OOCs from frozen, and remove two shopping carts' worth.

Boss tells me that the district manager is coming, and I need to clean the OOC yogurt in my back room ,because DM has mentioned it a couple times.

I say "there is stuff on this shelf that has been expired for over two years. I need to pull it; that is my priority."

He says "you need to go clean the OOC in your backroom."

Argument ensues.

Basically, he prioritized covering his *** on the yogurt in the back room over removing expired product from the shelf. He put his interests over the customers'. I ended up asking him how much the bad press from me talking to the local paper about it would cost him compared to taking a little flak from the DM.

I worked frozen the rest of my shift.

I'd go into more detail, but I pounded half a bottle of vodka when I got home.

I was really pissed.

I said something along teh lines of "so you want me to keep the expired product on teh shelf where customers can unknowingly purchase it? I just want to be sure so when the DM mentions it, I can tell him truthfully that you told me to leave it up."

I've been working 60-hr weeks at $10/hr ($15/hr over 40). I don't drink a ton anymore, so when I do, I prefer to drink decent stuff.

Ewwwwe, 60 hour weeks? Long days, or many days, or is it split up well?
