Still believe in the "silent r"? Smiley: wink

Quote:
Back when I used to hang out at the bar out which I used to hang, I was explaining the the bartender that Guinness is actually pronounced "Guinnress" because it has an "invisible r."
I went on to elaborate that invisible r's are the polar opposite of silent e's, because they're never at the end of a word, and you pronounce them even though you can't see them.
She replied by telling me that she thought I had had enough for the evening.

I can't fully wrap my head around it unless I'm drunk.
It's something Drunk-Usagi came up with. The word "brenfast" instead of "breakfast" came out of it, though.
