Really, it's less about what you're actually getting from the class and more about convincing the professor that he's doing a good job.
Classes like that aren't going to help you as an engineer anyway. Just use it to pad your GPA.
Also, how flexible is your scheduling? Do you get to pick any classes? I assume you have to take at least one writing class in there. If you are able to pick which one to take, take a technical writing class. It sucks and it's terribly boring, but it will help you immensely.
