A few weeks ago, I took $100 out and promptly lost it. Apparently I dropped the envelope in the snow in my driveway, where I proceeded to run it over many times until the snow melted. The bills were damaged, but more than 75% of each of them was still intact, and the serial numbers legible. In the States, you need more than 50% of the bill intact to exchange it.
The woman at the counter refused to exchange my money or to deposit it in my account. I became irate, as I have bills coming out of my account in the next few days, and need to put the money in there in order to cover them. So now I'm faced with late fees or overdraft fees since they wouldn't take the bills.
I didn't swear at her. I might have raised my voice a bit and I was clearly agitated. She called the guard over and had him escort me out.
The other branch that is close to me was closed due to a power failure, so I'm pretty @#%^ed. I'll go close my accounts with them next week. Sons of ********
