It's pretty lame that I don't have any knowledge on how to fix things. If anything ever breaks, we have to call a repair dude to fix it.
Like our washer (I'm living with 2 room-mates) shorting the circuit breaker. The only thing wrong with it was a broken pump, which I probably could have replaced myself, if I'd known that was the problem.

My Basic Electricty instructor (I'm taking Computer Engineering) basically reminded the class of this fact. That with each new generation, our handy-man skills decrease. Technology is getting more and more complicated, as well as expensive.

Meh.

I hear ya. My dad came from a line of carpenters. My grandpa taught him everything, but he didn't really get the chance to pass it down to me. I mean, my dad was a pharmacist, had a degree in microbiology, built our garage, did the plumbing in the house, some of the electrical, etc. It's just insane. His brother is the same way.

I helped my dad fix ceiling fans, toilets, and faucets in this apartment building we used to manage. I don't remember anything.

FTFY.

I'll be moving back into my parent's place for the summer, most likely working at Wal-Mart [:Anna:]
Oh well, I've worked for Wal-Mart before, it's not that bad... aside from the stupid meetings at the start of every shift.

We had those meetings at Circuit City and Lowe's too. The worst is when you're not there for the morning meeting (like if you're working afternoons), and your supe is supposed to fill you in on the meeting, but they never do because there's so much **** going on, and then the store manager asks you a question to see if you were paying attention. Smiley: lol

I'm hoping to work in the Electronics section (the only "good" section in Wal-Mart IMO), if not, Store standard (cart pusher, etc) so I can lose some weight.
