Can someone confirm, if I have a a pair of gauntlets (Zeliek's gauntlets) which have a socket (blue) can I add another socket to them using blacksmithing?
I suppose the same question applies to my girdle, which has a socket, can I add another one to that?

Yes and yes. And you can enchant the bracers too!
I've done the bracers already, but they didn't have a socket, which is why I was concerned.

You have to be a blacksmith to do that however.
The belt socket works for all professions
The gloves and bracers require the wearer to be a 400ish BS.
Belt, Gloves, and Bracers add Prismatic Slots which can hold any Gem but Meta Gems.
You should enchant your gear as well - adding a socket will not change the enchant status.
