Inscription Lottery: Minor Inscription ResearchFollow

I think it was pretty interesting that Blizz placed Minor Inscription Research at such a low skill level (75). Essentially, anyone level 5 and up with 5-7 stacks of entry level herbs has a shot to learn highly desired Minors. And if they are savvy enough to do so, make a mint on the AH if you know an under represented recipe.

Right now, on my server, the market for some Minor Glyphs is hot with the more popular ones selling for 100-140g (friend was selling out of Ghostwolf at 140 a pop). Those prices will definitely go down as more days/cool downs go by. But for now, while the getting is good, there's a definite chance you can strike it rich.

My question to you is how many inscriptors are you running?

I was only planning to do one until my friend mentioned he was running 2, one on his level 70, and another on a low level toon just so he could get an extra crack at learning Minors. Then he said he might run a third since you could train at level 5.

Anyways, pretty tempting. Level 5 toon, a few stacks of herb = a potential gold machine. Small initial outlay in time to level. A few minutes to buy 6-7 stacks of herb (more time if you want to farm yourself). A few minutes to level to 75 skill.

The gravy train on minors should dry up pretty soon. But with the 20 hour cool down inhibting the speed at which additional glyphs are learned, there will be some window of opportunity to learn something valuable and cash in.

FTFY.

More to the point, I'm only running with one. I've got too many other things going on than to level toons to 5, gather herbs for them to level with, and then hope they get a sought-afer minor glyph every day to justify the effort. Major glyphs on my realm are selling for as low as 2-3g each (people offloading in the skillup process without thinking are tanking the market on even the really good major glyphs). The minor glyphs sell for 50-75g for the really good ones.

I just learned the Water Shield glyph this morning. I had enough ink to make 7...I shipped two off to friends, listed the other 5 for 50g each and they all sold. That was my lucky discovery since the patch. I've previously learned Fading (priest), Fortitude (priest) and Lay on Hands (paladin). All glyphs with a use, but a pretty poor choice for anything other than filling a slot that's empty because there's not much else available right now. Certainly nothing worth wasting the ink on to try and make for sale.

i think anyone who's ever heard the pacman jones "scrip club" interview would have to agree that scrips and scrippers are the only appropriate terms.

unfortunately i have been unable to locate a handy enough clip to link :(

I got the Penguin Polymorph Glyph. Sold about 10 over the past 48 hours at 45 or so each. Makes up for the 20G/stack Silverleaf, I guess. ;)

I have not yet delved into the dark unknown that is inscription. I would like to concentrate on leveling my mage to 70 first. But if it really is this simple to create a potential cash flow, i may have to try it out. Thanks for the info.

I wouldn't expect the huge profits we have been seeing though UNTIL WOTLK hits. If you have inscription. Are ready with your herbs and level up fast gathering the new herbs I expect you will make good gold. But if you are going to not gather mats, dink around with a DK it probably isn't going to make you much gold to recoup your investment.

It's only that simple right now. The supply of minor glyphs is low because they have to be researched, so production is limited. But people are constantly learning them and the supply will not stay low; the prices will fall.

This has already happened with the major glyphs. The first couple of days after the patch, all glyphs cost a bundle. They major glyphs have already fallen, I've pickled up some for silver.

Not sure about the level 75 getting highly sought after glyphs. I think it still goes by level. I am probably wrong, as I have no way to prove it. I maxed 350 the first day.
