A Question about crafted armorsFollow

#1 Oct 14 2008 at 2:29 PM Rating: Default
In almost every armor making craft there are a bunch of (usually)
3 piece sets at the high end with one type of resistance. I asked
a friend who has a lot of experience where these came into play
and he said raids, but not instances as a general rule. I would like
some confirmation on this.

That's true for the most part. Magic resist is only really important for a few raid bosses. In normal leveling and instancing resist gear is completely pointless.

Pretty much - unlike EQ, resists dont really mean all that much except in some very specialized boss encounters.

For example, in SSC in order to do the water elemental boss you need two tanks with obscene resist sets, one of nature and one of (I think) ice who tag team the boss.

However, you only wear that stuff for that one fight and those two tanks are the only ones worried about it to boot.
