Lazy TailorFollow

#1 Sep 24 2008 at 6:16 PM Rating: Decent
Okay, I have a lvl 63 main mage and all that. But, throughout my questing and playing the game and what not, I neglected my professions, which isn't good. At the moment, my tailoring is at 291, which I think could be much better for my level. Anyways, I was wondering, what are some quick stuff I can make to bring my tailoring up to par?

First thing to do is get to 300 , use whatever you can to get there as then you can make bolts of netherweave , now they should get you to about 315 which i think is when you can start making bags which should easily get you to 330 and of course will sell well, over that level there are still a few recipes that are simple to make and should get you to around 350 , above that i am not so sure but as long as you have Netherweave cloth you should be able to easily get to 350 .

The problem you have is either you will have to buy mats or farm them , so i suggest looking at the recipe lists on Alla and finding what you want to make as many will be Rep patterns anyway so you will end up farming for them .

as a Mage there are many patterns that are Great for a Mage so i suggest you do a little reading to see what you need , the Mage forum is a must read for you as is the Trade Skills FAQ in this section.

Apart from you will either be spending gold or farming to get to 350 it should be simple and fast , above 350 is somewhere i have not got yet so cannot suggest what is easy to top out tailoring.

When I leveled tailoring on my priest, I followed Chezzik's tailoring guide. I got to 300 on my 48 warlock following the same basic steps and found it easy and efficient.

Quote:
283-300: Make 18 Runecloth gloves. These turn yellow at 290, but usually generate skillups through level 300. It's likely that one will fail, that's why I say 18 instead of 17.
Ingredients: 72 bolts of runecloth, 72 Rugged Leather, 18 rune thread. (assuming you get by with 18.)

NETHERWEAVE CRAFTING PHASE (300-375)

Finding the grand master tailor
To continue past 300, you will need to find the grand master.
Horde players should speak to Dalinna (on the left side of the inn
in Thrallmar). Alliance players should seak out Hama someplace in
Honor Hold. The skill of master tailor requires level 50. If you
are not yet level 58, have a friend summon you, or by a portal.
Netherweave Bolt, Netherweave Bag, and Netherweave Belt patterns are
all taught by Hama and Dalinna.

The main procedure I am choosing to list here will be simple, since
it does not contain bags, transmutes, or arcanoweave recipes, and it
assumes that you have all the cloth needed up front. I have listed
some alternative through the addendums at the end.

* 300-325: SKILLUP 300 / 305 / 310 / 325
Bolt of Netherweave, qty: 520
(3120 Netherweave Cloth)

I'm not really sure how many of these are needed to reach 325. I think I
made about 60 bolts before they went grey. If you don't have enough cloth
to reach 325, but want to continue on, you can make netherweave bags or
netherweave belts to reach 325 (see addendum A).

* 325-340: SKILLUP 325 / 330 / 335 / 340
Imbued Bolt of Netherweave, qty: ~102
This recipe is bought from the tailoring supplies vendor (Eiin) in lower Shattrath.
(306 Netherweave Bolts) [ 1836 Netherweave Cloth ]
(204 arcane dust)

Chezzik's Tailoring guide:

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=62322639

The guide was super helpful as it tells you how much of what materials you will need, and which recipes will give you the fastest skillups. At your level you can mix and match tailored items with quest rewards. Check your auction house to see what prices bags are fetching,it may be more profitable to disenchant the items you make and use/sell the resulting mats. This obviously works best if you are an enchanter yourself, although if not perhaps you could send items to be disenchanted to an enchanter friend or guildmate.
