All you tailors can hate me now!Follow

I'd never done SLabs, but was in the LFG and some guy whispers me and asks if I want to do the last 2 bosses. What the hell, sure! So they gimme the skinny about those bosses (well, I don't think we quite had that 3rd boss figured out; we managed to kill it after wiping about 10 times, maybe by accident, but someone new joined on Murmur, and knew it very well). Well, I keep having to run under the tent, cuz Murmur loves me and keeps TOUCHING me, but I manage to stay alive until the sucker finally falls (damn, he's hard), and what does he drop? The pattern for the Spellstrike pants. I had to look at it for a bit to make sure I wasn't dreaming! And I was the only tailor in the gang, so, woot!

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful, hate me cuz I got that pattern. :) Time to level UP!

Anyway, I just came here to gloat, cuz my friends irl don't understand. :) (my fiance' thinks I'm a loon for doing RL happy dance over this)

Trill

P.S. Will they be worthless after the expansion???

Probably not right away, but I'd imagine that by the mid 70s you'll start seeing blues that are about equal to it.

LOL, gratz, especially on managing to keep the group together for 10 wipes - most people write off the instance after 3, 5 wipes max on the same boss.

According to Blizz and beta testers, the higher end toys should actually last you till 73-75 (you mileage may vary). Additionally, the XP requirements are apparently rather obscene for dinging from what I've heard, so you should get your money's worth out of the pants.

Grats Trill !

I'm currently doing the solo Crypts thing (sneak to one Monk, kill, leave and reset) to get Recipe: Felsteel Gloves. I think my chance is 1 in 100, so I expect to be at it a while.

It's not so bad, though. Every few runs there are some mining nodes I can get to.

I am hoping that by posting a reply some of your luck will rub off on me. Lol

Thanks for the responses, that gives me hope, so I'll make em as fast as I can for a while. I gotta figure out this spellcloth thing lol.

-rubs up against tj for luck-

(I also got a kickass blue BOE JC recipe the other day that I'm trying to sell, so luck's good overall right now in the game. :) )

spellstrike will probably be replaced by 73 or so.

Not so sure about this. Two reasons;

1) I seem to remember beta people saying T6 gear would be viable in the first LK raids. That would make
T4 equivilant stuff like spellstrike viable latter than 73 I would think.

2) I think that they will program under the assumption that there will not be significant time spent at level
70, i.e. assuming that you will hit 70 and then go right on*. So a new character who did not spend a year at 70
will be hitting the new content in level 68-70 Outland greens. From Outland greens to T4 in 3 or 4 levels seems
much too quick a shift imo.

*lowest common denominator thinking.

Yeah - I'm getting worried here - hearing some claims that some T5+ stuff is going to last all the way till 80.

Now I do understand that Blizz doesn't want to make the same mistake as before were people's first greens were better then thier T3 stuff, but to have the better geared players go all the way to 80 and see little or no equipment upgrades is the exact opposite and just as bad if not worse (part of the joy of leveling is getting new gear after all).

Recall that leveling from 60-70 was around half a million points per level and while obviously the mobs and quests will be worth a lot more, from what I've heard from Beta its still a long and hard grind getting there, so while it might seem like not all that far going from green to T4 in 3-5 levels, recall that people are going to easily be at those levels as long as it'd take them to get some T4 stuff from Kara (and the reality is that now adays its easy as heck to get T4 if you're in a decent guild).

From what I have seen I will be replacing almost none of my gear pre-80 dungeons. (I am in T6 equiv gear from BT/MH/SW).

correct, T1/T2 was being replaced by the early greens/blues. T3 lasted until about 67-68 depending on the class and your needs for more stam.
