I am considering going into Enchanting and was wondering if you can Disenchant your soulbound gear? A lot of the quests give me gear that I can't use, but it is soulbound so I can't take it to the AH. It sells to a merchant for next to nothing.

Thanks

Yes, you can DE your Soulbound gear. That is one of the perks of Enchanting :)

You cannot, however, disenchant other people's soulbound gear. In case you were wondering.

Can't de your pvp epics, either. I kept my bracers around just to work on enchanting with for so long, because I just couldn't bear the thought of destroying my first epic gear. :)

You also can't DE most rep gear. (probably to keep people from buying cheap rep gear just for DE purposes)

I am not sure what level you are but i can say it is well worth it while trying to level as you play , i have a Priest NE and a Be Mage that also have tailoring = make cheap gear disenchant it and all the Soulbound stuff and you can make some serious gold ,if you also have the Auctioneer Suite with Enchantrix you can also see roughly what to expect from anything disenchanted , also you can scan the auction house and buy anything that enchantrix says you can make a profit on , result for my level 30 Mage was over 1000g without any trouble at all .

It does depend on your server though when trying to buy from auction , but other trades when power levelled do tend to put underpriced gear at auction so well worth looking out for , examples are jewellery tailoring and leatherworkers products all worth checking out
