No Apprentice Leatherworking - HELPFollow

#1 Jul 08 2008 at 3:24 PM Rating: Default
I choose leatherworking as a profession for my character. The trainers do not show "Apprentice" level in their dialog. Yet I cannot become a Journeyman even though I am level 45 character because it requires level 50 leatherworking, and I am at level ZERO leatherworking because no one will sell me a pattern.

Is this a glitch, or by design? I have asked GMs twice, and they don't even respond to the ticket - I don't even know if they see the ticket.

Why is there no such thing as Apprentice leatherworking? It does not appear in my GUI.

I have done some info searching, and I read somewhere that I had to wait until level 45 to get a starter pattern for a "Light Armor Kit". Well, I am level 45 now, and no kit.

Can anyone advise me?

I am not sure exactly what you mean ?

Do you mean you learnt leather working from a trainer or that you want to learn it ?

You can only have two trades so if you cannot learn it then you must already have two ?

If you already have two then you need to select one and get rid of it .

If you have learnt it then there should be an icon for leather working in your abilities general list ( a leather patch icon )?

If you have the icon for the trade then you will have a few simple patterns in in already when you open it ?

Either i need more info or i should have answered your question ?.

When you first go to a trainer and get leatherworking. you get patterns. Chances are good that you already know some items that will get you higher levels.

Did you read the FAQ at all? I don't think you did, because you didn't note this:

Q. What are the requirements for trade skills?

A. You can start getting trade skills at level 5. If you need to find a trainer, ask a guard (they'll put a flag on your mini-map if you ask under "Professions"). There are tiers for skills:

Level 5 - maximum skill is 75 (Apprentice - need to be at least 50 to raise).
Level 10 - maximum skill is 150 (Journeyman - need to be at least 125 to raise).
Level 20 - maximum skill is 225 (Expert - need to be at least 200 to raise).
Level 35 - maximum skill is 300 (Artisan - need to be at least 275 to raise).
Level 50* - maximum skill is 375 (Master) - Primary professions can only train in the Outlands so the account must be Burning Crusade enabled.
* Level 45 minimum required for Fishing, and level 35 required for Cooking/First Aid.
