Bleh - elixer/flask mastery expensive wayFollow

According to the Wowwiki write-up on Alchemy, you only have to pay the 150g to switch, there is no additional cost to pick a different specialization.

On my server, you can constantly find BM instances because all the melee types want the Hourglass of the Unraveller, plus you have new level 70s that want to get Honored Rep to buy the blue PvP gear.

I did this a few days ago. I chose to train potion mastery on my second alchemist because it only required the second boss in Botanica, and a few potions for turn in.

After I got potion mastery, I paid the quest giver 150g to drop it. Then I went to the new trainer and he simply handed me elixir mastry, no quest needed.

Now I'm potion mastery on one toon, and elixir mastery on another. That maximizes my procs when making both potions and flasks for my raids.

The only caution is that if you have more than one alchemist, take into account your discoveries. You will want to put elixirs on the appropriate one that can use those recipes.

I recently did my elixir mastery quest on my alchemist, and I have experienced none of the problems mentioned here. I had absolutely no problems getting groups together to run BM a few times. The instance is one of the quickest instances in the game to run and it gives you solid rep with KoT, not to mention some of the rewards :) Had enough essences of infinity after 2 runs and a partial run (which got aborted because of the horrible PUG) in which I got only one.
