I 'farm' GEE's through the Wicked Leather Headbands. They appear to me as having a more than the 20-25% chance of dropping a GEE that the tooltip indicates. Plus, when they DO give a GEE, they frequently give 2 or 3. Good times!

I buy any headbands under 3g50s - there's usually a good supply because it's an item used to level since it's cheap to make. But since they are cheap and easy to make, my main source is through making them myself. I buy any Rugged Leather that's selling for 5G or less per stack and ship them to my LW toon. I also have a standing offer for any guildies who are leveling their skinning - ship me their ruggeds, I'll do the rest and we split the profits.

It's a mid-level recipe, so you shouldn't have any problem finding a guildie to work with.

The best place to obtain the mats is the AH. If you buy the items to be disenchanted for Nether essences using
/Enchantrix percentless 50,
you'll find plenty, and be able to sell whatever you don't use for a huge profit.

I went with a new UI/add-on set when 2.4 came out and that meant installing a new copy of auctioneer advanced and enchantrix. Percentless wasn't working for me - the items it brought up didn't reflect what was actually for sale on the AH. I asked for help on the enchantrix boards and they said that the percentless feature was rolled into btmscanner.

It's taken some configuring (which I'm still working on), but I like the new setup and I actually think I'm finding more/better items to DE. Once I get a few more aspects ironed out, I'll post my setup.

Two quick tips though - use the filters to search only for items to DE. Also, run a scan before you turn on btmscanner. Once that's done, run a SECOND scan concurrently with btmscanner. (btmscanner normally only searches most recently added auctions unless you are running a scan or other search).

I'm glad percentless is still working for most of you, though now I'm curious why I ran into my problems.

I'd never done that enchantrix percentless. I tried, but couldn't figure it out. I don't think it was working.

Anyway, I'm off of nether essences now. Now I need to get eternal essences... lol

Edit:

Just checked lesser and greater eternal essences...

item lvl 51+ = lesser eternal essences
item lvl 65+ = greater eternal essences

Of course, I assume you mean 55+ for greater eternal essences.

Also, remember that they have to be from pre-TBC (if you are planning to buy off AH). A lvl 57+ item from Outland will DE into Arcane Dust or Planar Essence. However, a lvl 57+ item from pre-TBC will give Illusion Dust or Eternal Essences.

Ah... I just clicked on a random item, that disenchants into eternal essence, to see what item lvl to look for. Only Pre-TBC items can DE into eternal essence? So would need to be items that aren't from outlands, right?

That is correct. Just make sure to see what it will DE into before you buy it.

I'm wondering if its possible to put the Enchantrix output in a separate window? It seems it defaults to the main chat window and it soon scrolls up. So, when it find something, I type it in the AH buy it, then the output is gone.

Absolutely. Create another chat frame and name it. I named mine enchantrix so I wouldn't forget what it is. Then issue the command "/enchantrix print-in windowname" (substituting the chat window name for windowname).

It's pretty common to have enchantrix percentless not work after upgrading versions of auctioneer. The key if you have problems is to completely uninstall the older one.

What I do when I have problems with enchantrix not working is:
Get the latest Auctioneer Advanced Suite from the developer's site http://www.auctioneeraddon.com/ .
Look in the .zip file at the folders included in it. Delete these same named folders from your Addon directory.
Place the new version folders into your addon directory.

Now turn your attention to the WTF folder. There are many saved variable files associated with auctioneer. These should be deleted from the folder and your character's subfolder (you may just need to delete the character's subfolder).

I think an alternate easier way (which I'll use next time) is just to delete the entire WTF folder and let it be recreated when wow starts. Be aware that deleting the wtf or it's character folders will cause your other addons to go back to default settings.

Now that it is reinstalled, scan the AH with the little play button on the upper left of the auction window. When the scan is complete, issue the "/enchantrix percentless 50" command.
