I try to do the fishing quest daily every time I'm on. I got the gem a little while back, and last night picked up the hat finally..woohoo!

And as the last poster said, time to free up bag space by getting rid of all those darn sharpened hooks!

I heard a tale of someone on my server getting "the 2ring" and sold it for something like 2500 gold.

I'd like to get that fishing chair next!

There's no excuse to not do the daily fishing quests if you've got the skill - they're easy and you can usually get other stuff done while in the areas.

When you're hunting the Mudfish grab the spectral goggles and take the readings - if the spirit soup cooking quest is available do that too.

For the giant felsnapper just fish at the river near Shadowmoon and then do the skyguard bombing quest after that - ditto with the bait-stealer quest.

My alt with the crappy fishing skill just got the croc reward on its first attempt at the city quest so now I've got two of the suckers.

The daily fishing quest at the moment , is the only daily i do, mainly because i want some heart of the sea's for my tank kit. I've already got the Hat, Muckbreath (baby croc) and the beer recipe. The best thing about the daily is that it is so ridiculously fast to do, not one of them takes me longer than ten minutes usually.

Note to the above poster,, i believe that the Fishing Chair is actually only available from Lando Longshot as a Reward from the Trading Card Game, not a prize from the fishing daily unfortunately, as i've been lusting after that chair for a loooooong time, but i will not fork out £60 on Ebay for the bugger :P

Was always an avid fisherman so have done it every day and picked up an Eye of the Sea (sold for 330g), a shadow pearl (50g+) and the recipe. The '2 Ring' has been sold at least 4 times on my server, for about 2000g to 2500g. Personally I think I'd sell it for 2222g ;-) or more likely keep it.

I'm getting a huge amount of lures out of the reward bag and don't expect to ever craft another aquadynamic. Last I checked I can keep a +100 lure on for at least 16 hours before running out.

Couple of days ago I got the head! And today the golden weddingband, which I could vendor for 11 gold, not a bad week. And my pet can always use fish.

Next time you should check Allakhazam and sell it on the AH.

Why would anybody want to buy this? It has no use at all.

And I found a much lower price

No use? Giving a wedding band to your favorite Night Elf Druid... I sold mine for 60g.

I have been doing the fishing daily pretty frequently. I received the recipe not long ago, and to my suprise The 2 Ring as well :D

Morthandeus that's exactly what I did. I had listed it originally for 3000g but it didn't sell. Then I thought it would be amusing to list it for 2222g and it sold within the hour :D

I spent all of the gold making the Alchemy Trinket from Shattered Sun rep ;-; That and a leg armor kit :3

That's just real uh, said?

@Monsieur Ebonspine Sage: You lucky devil! I think If I find that 2 ring, I will just keep it for myself.

Not entirely - there are quite a few couples on the game so what better way to give your wife or hubby an "Ahh, that's so sweet" moment then to send him/her a wedding ring in game for an anniversery? Or how's about celebrating an anniversery with a renewal of vows in game?

now i feel stupid. sold my golden wedding band to the vendor (thinking 11g was great)

Dont feel bad - I wouldn't have thought of it either.

So on the topic of stupid greys, what else do you guys think might sell?

How's about the monical - anyone can wear it so some folks might want it to go with thier tux?

There's a glass eye that says it belonged to someone named C.S. - what's that about?

I enjoy the fishing quest a lot. So easy to do and I actually like fishing (in game, not real life... :P ) The most time it ever took was not quite 15 minutes the first time I did the Bait bandits one, more often the quests take well under ten minutes.

I'm haven't gotten the glass eye yet, but I did get the Mariner's Log, which was pretty funny reading. *edit* Maybe the eye belonged to Cedric? :D

Quote:
First watch. Seven bells
Cedric found in rum closet again.
Disciplined.

First watch. Eight bells
Watches changed. All is well.

Middle watch. One bell
Cedric found attempting to to break into
Captain's wine cabinet. Disciplined.

Middle watch. Two bells
Cedric climbed rigging. Became tangled
and fell. Attended by ship's surgeon. Sent
below to sober up.

Middle watch. Four bells
Bottle of rum found in Cedric's pants.
Disciplined.

Middle watch. Five bells
Cedric's clothes found. Cedric found separately.
Cedric disciplined.

Middle watch. Six bells
Cedric singing loudly. Woke Captain.
Cedric disciplined by Captain.

Middle watch. Eight bells
Watches changed. All quiet. Two men
sent to locate Cedric.

Morning watch. One bell
Fire in Captain's quarters. All hands
roused. Throwing powder overboard.

I do the fishing daily in hopes of getting the hat. No luck so far. Only gotten the cookie recipe which I do like. Second best had to be the monocle which I sold on the AH to someone with way to much money. Forgot how much. I knew there would be a bank alt character that would love to have it with their tux.

I’m right there with you. It never even occurred to me to try to sell mine on the auction house. Dohh!

I actually stopped doing the daily fishing quest for a while. Part of it was my taking so many characters through the Children’s Week quests. But part of it was also my frustration. I’m taking four characters through the quests. Cashara got the fishing hat the first day. Woot! Later I got a second hat. But it was again on Cashara. So I had to vendor it. Then, just before Children’s Week, I got a third fishing hat. But again it was on Cashara. So there I am with three hatless fishermen and I’m vendoring yet another hat. Grr… So I took a break.

I started doing the fishing quest again last night and Farli got his fishing hat. I’m feeling much better now. *smiles* And just for the record, that’s four fishing hats so far along with three Hearts of the Sea. But I’ve yet to get a monocle, which I’d like to have for a couple of bank alts. Oh well, its something to look forward to. I could buy one from the auction house, but I’ve only seen them on Blackhand for 190 to 300 gold. I don’t know if they sold. All I can say is that I didn’t buy them.

I wouldn't complain too much Calabar.

I have been doing the fishing daily almost every day since it started on two different toons and have yet to see a hat on either one. I've gotten the gem once. So, all in all, either I'm really unlucky, or you're really lucky. But, either way, 4 hats and 3 gems seems like better than normal.

My banker is equipped with a monocle, though. :-)

I'm still plugging away on the fishing with 2 characters.

Neither have the hat. One has looted two fishing lines, the other none. The non-fishing line toon has looted two pets, Chuck and Muckbreath, the other none. Both have looted one Eye of the sea. Both have looted a shadow pearl.

I have looted a few wedding rings, tried to AH for a minimal mark up but no joy so I vendored.

This week I looted one or two monocles. Will see if they will sell on the AH (keeping one for fashion). And looted a Ornate Drinking Stein yesterday. Will see how both look on my AH mule.

I was contemplating stopping all dailies for a while because of the mind numbing repetition, but the fishing one is easy and quick enough, with the poptential of a nice jackpot, that it's the one daily I still make sure I do.

Usually I can do the fishing quest on both toons in the a.m. right before my 4 year old wakes up and wife is finished getting ready for work. Only takes a few minutes to get both done. If the RNG isn't my friend and I still haven't caught the catch of the day, I can log at that spot and be ready to resume later at night.

Never bothered with this (or getting my fishing above 225) until I read this thread; now I do it every day I log. Fishing about to break 300 (its soooo painful to level) and I love these quests. Even got a gray ring (ancient ring or some-such that vendored for 25g!).
Haven't seen any of the cool stuff yet, but thats just icing on the cake. Great quests...well done Blizz.
Cheers!

Finally got my first fishing hat yesterday! I was very excited until I got the hat again on the same toon this morning. Back to back hats, mighty fine.

Almost equals the 3 fishing lines I have receieved on my other fisherman.

Would be nice if the lines or hats were BOE but I understand they are supposed to be rewards for the angler.

I did get a ornate drinking stein with one of the hats. Anyone have any luck auctioning of a stein? I sold an extra monocle for 150, but haven't tried a stein yet.

Also, what's a good main hand for a lvl 1 alt that goes well with the stein offhand? I'm usually not too concerned with fashion but I do get a chuckle out of my AH toon with a monocle, tux and stein.

Isn't the Enormous Barbed Gill Trout a main-hander? My bank alt carries one, but I don't remember if its main or off-hand. Great for those times when you really want to slap someone with a wet trout.

I've had two of the 15 stam gems, I put the first in an unlikely to be replaced set of tanking gloves, so the other is in the bank, might sell it. I've also had the hat, but sadly no line or other fun things. Thats from doing it every day after the patch until about two weeks ago, where I took a semi hiatus for revision.

I sold a monocle for 55g over the weekend. I probably could have held out for more, but I figure 5x the vendor price was pretty good. Beware though, the deposit is roughly 6.5g on the monocle. It doesn't display when you list it, but you'll see the deposit when it's returned to you with the sale.

A few weeks ago, I sold the Eye of the Sea for about 450g.

Still waiting on the other goodies. :-)
