Raiders... what potions, elixirs, flasks do you use?Follow

#1 Apr 04 2008 at 5:02 AM Rating: Good
basically, as the title says, what are some of the most frequently used flasks, potions, and elixirs?
#2 Apr 04 2008 at 5:23 AM Rating: Good
Really depends on the class we are talking about. The most popular i see in my guild are the Flask of Relentless Assualt, Flask of Pure Death, most of the rogues use Major Agility pots or the Relentless Assault, not sure about the healers tbh.

As a mage:

Flask of Pure Death
Super Mana Potion

Yep, that's about it.

Hunter:

Relentless assault
major agility potion
mana oil
fel mana pot
super healing pot

Paladin:

mighty restoration flask
healing power pot
major mageblood pot
super mana pot
super healing pot
mana oil

As a Holy Paladin, the following are my raid essentials.

Adept's Elixir or Elixir of Healing Power (Battle Elixirs)
Elixir of Draenic Wisdom or Elixir of Major Mageblood (Guardian Elixirs)
Superior Wizard Oil or Superior Mana Oil
Super Mana Potion and Super Healing Potion

Right now the only flasks I ever use are the Unstable ones from Blade's Edge, e.g., Unstable Flask of the Elder or Unstable Flask of the Physician.

Foodwise, in case anyone's remotely curious, I'm munching on Golden Fish Sticks or Blackened Sporefish.

Go to left of screen.

Click on Trade Skills - By Trade.

Click on Alchemy

Scroll to bottom of the list

Find best potion, elixir, flask for your class/spec.

Get it for raid.

:)

Seriously OP - you need to ask questions with more detail. Like what class/spec are you inquiring about?

YJMark... um... basically, everyone else who posted have been able to get what i've asked...

1)do you raid?
YES -> list some potions, flasks, elixirs you normally use for your raids
NO -> click back to threads..

that's all...

thank you very much for your input... and for the opportunity to further clarify my question...

WOW - I completely misunderstood your original intent....sorry about that.

I thought you were asking advice so you would know what to take with you when you were going raiding. For that, more info would be needed. Most of the replies listed different ones for different class/specs.

Then, I saw your other post, and it seems like you were just asking what to make so that you could sell them.

Anyway, sorry.

I play a feral tank/dps druid. when i raid, and 5-man instance (including PuG)i typically use any or all of the following.

Raiding/learning/suriving MgT learning PuG's i have been poppin a flask of relentless assult b/c of the high chance of dieing.
If i dont have or dont use a flask i go with
Battle pot--Elix of agi, or str, or AP depending on what mats i have herbed lately, or what i happen to have on me
Gaurdian pot--either earthen elixir or the resillience pot
I do carry healing exlir's for my healers usually

Food--usually a +20 stam/spirt food while tankin
if i have +30 stam food from the cookin daily even better, but usually +20 stam
if its a no CC 5-man run, stormchops for the extra dmg generation
if i am kitty, then usually a +20 agi food
i usually carry +23 spell dmg food for my dps'ers though

when tanking usualy always apply a rune of warding on my chest

i carry 5 each, mana and health pots, but rarley if ever use them because of the in-form druid thing.

When i have them, scrolls are a nice boost, but i rarely have them, and usualy use them ASAP to free up bag space when i do get them.

come to think of it, i should probably get some stonesheild pots or something similar to pop on the way into a boss fight...need to farm some herbs tonight then.

why would you ever use elixor of shadow power (assuming major shadow power) when pure death gives more +dmg anyway?

I, as a BM hunter, use flask of relentless assault pretty much all the time, and super mana pot every now and then

As a raiding Moonkin, I like to use:

Adept's Elixir- I like the extra crit rating and the damage isn't bad either
Draenic Wisdom- For the extra mana and MP5

Flasks... Well, too many mats for my liking, and though the effect is great... After the big alchemy nerf, not enough bang for my buck. I remember a time when I wanted to learn Flask of Fortification because it had like 1500 +health and 75 Defense rating on it, but now...

---

As far as other consumables go...

Skullfish Soup- More crit rating and the standard Spirit from all food buffs
Blackened Basilisk- More +damage and Spirit
Superior Wizard Oil- Extra damage
Brilliant Wizard Oil- Extra crit AND damage
Super Mana Potions
Mad Alchemist's Potions- used when I may be taking damage such as from AoEs or fights like the Shade or Wizard of Oz, in which aggro tables are nonexistent for some or all mobs. If I'm gonna be blowing a cooldown for a potion, I may as well get mana from it regardless.

Tree form druid here - I use Elixir of Draenic Wisdom and Elixir of Healing Power. I couple that up with Golden Fishsticks and Superior Mana Oil. I use Brilliant Mana Oil when I can get it, for the healing bonus, but mats are a tad expensive these days.

YJMark,
no apologies necessary bro... all good...

pehaps my reply was tad blunt?

in any case, i've been stockpiling mats and i'm beginning to feel that this is not so good... so i'm trying to make a wiser decision to keep some inventory of mats that are necessary for pots/elixirs/flasks that are more commonly used in raids...

this time, i've basically made all TBC pots and elixirs in hopes to discover a new flask but sadly, this was not to be... after... 60 Super Healing Potions... and bout 40 more of this and that...

ha ha ha...

/cry...

When my pally is Holy, she usually goes with the same things Dilbrt listed. When she's prot, I go with either Flask of Fortification or Flask of Blinding Light if we're on a farm run.

and my question is: why would you use FLASK for FARM, and ELIXIR for PROGRESS?
shouldn't the other way seem better (progress=wipes=flask; farm=no wipes=elixir)?

i use just the elixirs (major agility/mongoose and major mageblood/dreanic wisdom), as i do not raid per se - just the 5man once and then...
other consumables include mana oil and food (usually mudfish/warp burger/ravager dog, i think that i'll use spiced talbuk for the raids, to minimize the miss chance)

EDIT: oh, yeah... and the fel mana pots...

like I posted after the other guy that asked that exact same question, we have potion masters in our guild so I can get health/mana potions made then just put em on AH and buy the elixirs.

You, sir, do not make any sense(you can just buy flasks too).

Personally, I like Flasks of Pure Death for BT, and Supreme power for anything else(meaning mostly Hyjal and ZA) because Supreme Power helps my Arcane Explosions, which are a significant component of my AoEs.

As far as potions go, I always have a 5 stack of health potions(though I rarely use them), 2 full mana potion injectors, and a stack or two of destruction potions. Also, while not a potion per se, I always try to keep some flame caps handy.

My guild is only in Kara but..

Feral Druid:Tank
Battle Elixir: Elixir of Mastery
Guardian Elixir: Elixir of Fortitude sometime Gift of Arthas on from half of Kara of we have lots of DW melee to speed things up. My guild keeps giving me Earthen Elixirs but I like fort better as it does not effect rage generation the way Earthen seems to.

Feral Druid:DPS
Battle Elixir: Major Agility or sometimes a Flask of Relentless Assault
No Guardian

Resto Shaman:
Battle Elixir: Healing Power
Guardian Elixir: first choice is Major Mageblood second it Draenic Wisdom
OR
Flask of Might Restoration
