As far as I know, there's no trainers in Shatt, your Blacksmith Trainer (along with Mining) is found in Hellfire Peninsula, and he will train _all_ Blacksmiths. There aren't very many recipes; most of the Outlands recipes come from scrolls, some of which are BoP.

If I recall correctly, though, don't you need 300 Blacksmithing for the first recipe, or near it? If he won't train you anything, go get some Thorium (this will greatly help the transition from mining Fel Iron to Adamantite too!) and raise that skill to 300 and then try HFP.

The new Weapon/Armorsmith recipes are found on the NPC in your City (Ironforge for Alliance, dunno about Horde).

There is a specialty BS trainer in shatt next to the forge. He only teaches you the weapon smith and armor smith stuff for burning crusade. You can get trained no matter what spec you are, but you can only learn to craft things of your spec. You cannot, for instance, learn a hammer if you're sword spec.

There is a forge in Shath? Looked for one, but no luck, been flying to the Alarian Stronghold. Would help a little with JC but I am at the mostly gem stage, 320 or so.

Lower city, near the daily dungeon quest NPCs.

GAH, I didn't know that. Sorry about the misinformation above.

Does he have anything the Ironforge NPC doesn't?

I am only 360 Blacksmithing, but I managed to pick up Lunar Crescent and Planar Edge from him and I know those are TBC...

OP: You need to hit 300 on your Blacksmithing to learn Master Blacksmithing from the trainer at Honor Hold/Thrallmar. This will raise your level cap to 375 and enable you to start learning the Outland recipes.

This was changed in the 2.3 patch. Prior to 2.3, you needed to go to the master weaponsmith/armorsmith trainers in Lower City.

FYI, both NPC trainers are Orcs if I recall correctly, so if you're Alliance you might not have paid any attention to them at first. Walk right up to them and train, they don't bite.
