Hi, I'm 70 ally rogue. Just took mining as many friends say it's a great moneymaker.
Is there a guide to powerlevel mining? I've been mining mine in elwynn forest first, then went to westfall's mines. Now I'm at 110 mining and am lost where should I mine next to get to outlands faster.
Thanks

Just off the top of my head;

Red Ridge had some good tin deposits. If you need tin, head there. However, at your level you're probably itching to get into Iron (125 skill). Go to the spider cave just at the beginning of the Wetlands (if you come out of the tunnels from Loch Modan). There is a type of deposit in there for an ally quest, but it'll push you to 125 no problem.

Once you can get iron, I suggest heading over to Thousand Needles. Make a circuit, and be sure to run around the edges of the map. Hit the wyvern roost area (2 iron spawns), the harpy cave (2-3 iron spawns), circle around the Shimmering Flats (2 spawns of iron, some tin/copper), and go through the caves in the centaur camp (2 spawns). Along the way you should find 4-5 more iron spawns, and lots of tin/copper. There is also mithril in the caves, but you're too low for it.

Once you get up to the mithril level, you have a lot of options with a few nodes. Try looking in silithid areas; the one in 1k Needles often has two nodes, as does the one in Feralas. Tanaris has a lot of mithril, but it seems to be quite spread out. Skulk Rock in the Hinterlands has some nodes, and running around the edges of the zone will get you more. Mithril is plentiful, and lasts you for a long time.

When you get to Thorium, I found Un'Goro to be nice (again, the silithid hive has steady nodes). Azshara also has a lot of mithril and some thorium.

When you reach Rich Thorium, I hear that EPL has a great circuit, and Winterspring has some nodes. However, the best locations will be ooze-covered rich deposits in the elite bug hives in Silithus. As you can stealth (lucky bugger), it should be easy to hit each hive, find the nodes, and get out.

Where you find nodes will depend on your server, and how many people are farming that area. So there are no 100% sure spots. However, since you have an epic mount (at least I assume you do), you should be able to run circuits fast.

Wetlands - spider cave to west of southern entrance into region. There are Incendicite Nodes (or something like that). That will take you to Iron.

Iron - Arathi and/or Badlands. Arathi is more Iron focused. Badlands is more split between Iron and Mithril. So I would recommend to start in Arathi, and then move to Badlands.

Mithril - Tanaris & Hinterlands are awesome. Badlands is still pretty good too.

Thorium - Bruning Steppes or EPL. Loaded with Thorium and Rich Thorium veins. Plus, you won't have to go into caves and kill mobs. That just slows progress down.

That will take you to Fel Iron in Outland.

Great maps for routes can be found here:

This is where I went to level mining, and it really helped.

The Thorium stage is a real PITA. Mithril is green so 1 skill up in 5? I been in Un'goro Crater looking, was never there as a 50 something, so the newness out weighs the lack of nodes, but I think blasted lands might be a little better as Dark Iron will give skill ups. Oh well, at 265 and slowly getting to the glory of 300 and Fel Iron

Dude - get out of Un'goro. That place is terrible for Thorium. Go to Burning Steppes or EPL. That is where the Thorium lives aplenty.

I used the powerleveling guide off the Oboards. I burned through the Copper-Tin stage fairly quick. I am on Iron now. Waiting to get to Mithril so I can move on out of Badlands/Astranaar/Desolace.

Until you get 275, Blasted lands is great, small Thorium and Dark Iron. Then go to EPL for the Rich Thorium. Gatherer speeds up the process greatly.

Also, check out MapWoW. It's a great site where you can select different ore (and herb) types and see where they spawn.
