Adjusting weights - Auctioneer/EnchantrixFollow

Was wondering if Auctioneer would automatically update weights for mats based on the last scan? And if not, why doesn't it? =p

Anywho, if I have to do it myself, what line on the Auctioneer data do I use? I am thinking median, but that is very close to my current weights. My main concern is that Illusion Dust, Vision Dust and even Greater Eternals have been driven into the ground. My enchantrix list is giving me a bunch of stuff to buy out and I end up with a couple stacks of dust that I can't sell anywhere near a profit and I have to break the essence to lessers and not make as much as I would like.

Weights need to be adjusted by you. It's not done automatically. The weights determine the display of disenchantable items when you use /percentless or /bidbroker. Only those items that meet your weight criteria will be displayed, and it doesn't matter whether it's Median or HSP. I prefer to use HSP, and have disabled the display of base and median when I look. (HSP = Highest Sellable Price).

Excellent. And one more newb question for clarification, do I adjust it in the Fixed Value pane and leave the weights at 100% or is it better to just adjust the percentages?

I don't use the Fixed Value Pane. What that pane does is choose your selling price, and not allow it to float with the market. It should only be used when the market is out of whack, and even then, a very light touch is what's needed. I find it easier to either boost or lower the market by selling large quantities of mats x1, rather than fix the selling price of my mats.

As a disenchanter, you have to take a long-term look at the AH. If prices of mats are too low, you won't be able to find many disenchantable items that can make you a profit and same for everyone else. Eventually, either the price of disenchantables will drop or the price of mats will rise (or both). If prices of mats are too high, the indication will usually be that you are getting way too many of one specific type of mat when you disenchant - that's when you want to play with weights for that specific mat. After a while, you'll be able to look at mats on the AH and know just by looking whether the prices are too high or too low.

Well, I have been doing well up until this method really went mainstream on my server. I have a level 35 sitting on 2700g. All of the sudden, the mats I listed above are next to worthless. I have 2.5 stacks of ID, 8 stacks of VD and I am selling GEEs for dirt cheap, granted more than I paid for the item, but not the nice prices I was used to. I kinda blame the new auction house times, but I think there is an influx of bandwagoners as well.

Yeah, the "bandwagoners" are a real pain. I wish that folks had never revealed our "secrets" to them. ;) Blizzard moved inthe right direction by requiring them to level up in conjunction with the skillups. Wait them out. They'll get bored and go away, because what they're really looking for is a quick buck, and prices will float back up to normal.

No. Addons written in LUA are allowed according to the TOU that you agree to. You cannot use any "addons" that are in the form of .exe though. Those will get banned.
