I'm wondering about the rules around taking a mastery. - I found out that I accidentally had taken the quest for two different Masteries: Potion and Elixir.
It also puzzles me that I can already make some transmutes, but haven't taken any training in that.
You can make pots and elixirs, and do transmutes, without being a Master in any of them. But, once you are a Master in one, then you have a chance of getting two of the item you are making, if it is within your Mastery.
So, if you make a Primal Might and are Transmute Mastery, there is a chance you will get two. And, the chance exists for that second one also, so there is a lesser chance, but a chance nonetheless, that you will get three, and so on. I think it becomes statistically "impossible" to get another once you get to five, and have never had the pleasure of getting more than two.
