A Fair PriceFollow

I hit 300 Enchanting yesterday, and finally got Crusader to drop after several days of farming for hours. I also have Fiery Weapon, Icy Chill, and Unholy Weapon.

My questions: what do you consider to be a fair price to perform the Crusader enchant, both with and without mats? What is a fair price for Fiery Weapon, Icy Chill, and Unholy Weapon? How do you go about determining a fair price, generally speaking?

In the past few days, I have been doing some heavy shouting offering my enchants. I've had some success (especially with Fiery Weapon) and haven't really been asking for much more over the cost of mats considering I've been getting skill-ups as well. My feeling, however, is that I would be within my rights at this point to ask people for a larger sum, especially when dealing with something like Crusader, which not only requires 300 skill but also a good deal of time farming with a high-level character, or at the very least shelling out a couple hundred gold to buy it. Not only that, but the mats are rising in price, and are also harder to obtain.

What do you think? If you're an enchanter, what do you charge? If you're not, what would you pay for Crusader (or the other enchants mentioned)? I'm just curious what the prevailing logic is on this issue.

Well, a fair price IMO would be based on your servers economic condition and the amount of trouble you had to go through to obtain the mats or the recipe. For something like Crusader or Unholy, I would expect a tip, near 10-20g or even more. If no tip is offered, just refuse. It seems to work well for eveyone else on my server, (Area 52). If it is a guildy it is different. If the mats are available just use them and if not make the person you are enchanting go buy them but don't make them pay you a tip because thay are a guildy. This is just how I see it IMO. It is really how you want it to be done. After all you are the one with the power to decide in the situation becasue you are the enchanter and they are on the reciving end.

Since I put all of my mats into the AH, I use "Free with your mats". I make my gold from selling mats, not from hawking enchants.

from what i have seen on a few different servers most enchanters do not charge or charge that much
i have seen 3 ways they they seem to work

1..some offer free enchanting with your =they supply mats
2..some offer free enchanting with your=they supply mats if they get a skill point
3..some offer for a fixed price say 5g ? plus your=they supply mats

some do charge and supply mats but that seems to be rare on my server , there are addons i think that can give you a guide price on what to charge though , best is see what works for you profit wise as selling what you disenchant probably is better
