Skin PricingFollow

#1 Jan 27 2008 at 1:03 PM Rating: Decent
Hey, i chose skinning and tailoring for my 2 trade skills. Skinning is my main source of money, as I always sell the skins i get. I was wondering if you guys could tell me what you think are good prices on the following leathers (by the 20):

-Light Leather
-Medium Leather
-Heavy Leather

Thanks, any help is appreciated :)

Search your Auction House as prices might be different from server to server.
Once you found out the "price", try to sell a little lower, not too much as you won't get more benefit.

Not only do prices vary from server to server, they also vary from day to day on the same server. Every time I put anything like leather or cloth on the auction house I do a search to see what the going rate is. If the average price is reasonable I’ll put my items up for auction. If the current price is too low for whatever reason I’ll bank my items until later.

Calabar is right.

Sometimes rugged leather will be 5g a stack, sometimes its as low as 2.25g a stack. Just shop around a little and keep an eye on the prices.

If the leathers aren't at the price you want, go farm more and come back later to check again.

2.25-5G per stack of rugged!?! Dang, I wouldn't have any gold. It's going 10-12G on my server. So Salkor, there is the point. Study the prices, know what you can get, then get all you can get.

The only people who might be able to answer your question are the people on your realm, and this is not a great place to find people on your realm to ask. Try the realm forums on the o-boards.

Don't try the realm forums, and don't ask anywhere else.

Get in the game, and head over to the AH. Open up the AH window. Open up your bag(s), and shift + click on the leather you want to sell. It automatically puts the name in the search bar. Click on search.

The search will find all items that have the specific characters you've put into your search. Find the item you want to sell, and look up the prices other people are putting them up for.

If you want a fast sale, undercut the lowest item by 10% or less. Anymore, and you're just cutting into your own profits.

i have seen light leather selling at 15s a stack and at 10g a stack on my server , i am not sure if it did sell at 10g but that shows the crazy prices that can be seen , best bet is use auctioneer on a regular basis to get an average price you can probably sell at , at times the market gets flooded and of course the market price drops so low it is not worth farming the skins , so then you play the waiting game as the farmers will stop farming the skins , when the price gets back to the level you want to sell at then sell your skins ,

i do most gathering trades on various alts but what i also do is see if any drops are high priced at auction , quite often there are other things that can be farmed while you are questing or farming cloth/leather that make some real gold as a bonus to your normal income

as an example i am level 70 i farm motes of water as on my server 1 hours farming gets me at least 40g with other drops from the elementals perhaps another 20g+ on top, at lower levels there are other farmed drops that can make as much gold per hour , it all depends on your server though ,

Not only on a regular basis... Whenever you log on and happen to be near an Auction House. And Auctioneer should then give you the median price. If not, IT'S BROKEN YAY.
