Hmm. Having some trouble finding a blacksmith on Feathermoon to craft Hand of Eternity.

I have all those mats sitting in the bank (except the Nethers of course) and can't seem to find someone to put it all together.

Just curious, but is the recipe that rare, or the Nethers so useful elsewhere, or what?

I am afraid that by the time I find someone to make it, WTLK will be out, and the Hand will probably be routinely outclassed by a bunch of routine rewards.

Of course it would be nice if Shard of the Virtuous would drop in the meantime for me, but I won't hold my breath.

You should ask around on your server's O-Board. Your odds will be much better there.

Why would you want that piece of junk? I never used it, and I never wanted to use it.

Need it because I have limited amount of time to spend on WOW (job and family) so can't commit to scheduled raids.

Once at level 70 it seems most game advancement is predicated on devoting a rather significant amount of time to grinding (whether it be mats, running instances, or repeating raid sessions).

Not a complaint at all - just an observation.

In the meantime, I try to upgrade where possible, improve my game skills, and wait for new challenges in WOTLK.

If you don't plan on raiding it with then what do you plan on doing with that mace? Arenas?

Comparison of Hand of Eternity to Gavel of Pure Light.

Gavel of Pure Light: 299 healing, 8 mp5, 12 int
Hand of Eternity: 317 healing, 7 mp5, 20 int

Just on stats alone, I can't see the problem with it. The only downside is that it tells people you don't have the time/patience to run the Tempest Keep 5-mans many times over.

Oh and it'll cost a fair bit to make but as a pre-Kara mace, it seems adequate to me.

EDIT: 500th post. Yay.

As I understand it, that mace is a relic of before Kara maces got buffed. If I recall correctly, they used to be inferior to that one.

That said, Anobix brings up a good point. What's the need for that mace if you can't really raid?

What's the point of a firefly pet? The dude wants the mace.

Indeed it's a good point. However the OP said:

which means he's got time to raid Karazhan, at least to Maiden.

EDIT: I see he's also said he doesn't have time for scheduled raids so I'm guessing he's pugging Kara. Oh dear. And if he's got time to get as far as Maiden, he's got time to do heroics like Mech and Bot so he's got time to grind rep for the Gavel.

Exactly. While I can't commit to scheduled raids, I enjoy being invited to them when I get the opportunity.

For my full Resto Druid, I need the mace - because when I am invited I want to do the best healing job possible.

Certainly, with my present gear, I can readily keep things healthy with a 'good' PUG.

However, life is not perfect, and with the new access to heroics some groups need a bit more skill (might call it cohesion), and I take it as a personal challenge to keep them and alive and happy.

So I will shell out a heap of gold if it makes a difference.

Finally have my Hand of Eternity.

Now if the Maiden drops her mace on one of the few times I am able to fit Kara into my schedule, so be it.

In the meantime my + healing is now up where I would like it to be.

(Thank goodness for being able to fish motes of water out of pure water to pay for it.)
