large prismatic shardsFollow

#1 Dec 26 2007 at 12:54 AM Rating: Decent
So my question is where can I farm items that DE into large prismatic shards since two of my 70 toons need a few enchants that require quite a few large prismatic shards. Now I know that they usually come from blue items in the range of 52-57ish but as my enchanter is only a lvl 58 lock, can anyone point me in a good direction? I know that a lot of bossess drop blue items in outland, but let's be honest, the chance of my lock greed rolling and winning are a little slim.

The other problem is that all the good blue items are all BOP so it's not as if I can just win them on one of my 70 toons and then just mail them to my lock to DE. So any ideas would be appreciated

LPS are DEed from blue gear 65ish to 70. Your best bet is to find a tailor that needs to skill up and have him make a bunch of imbued netherweave gear with your mats. Those can sometimes be found on the AH for cheap too. Since it seems you have more than 2 70s, money really shouldn't be a problem even if you only did dailies.

In my economy, it pays to buy cheap heavy knothide leather, cheap arcane dust and cheap blood garnets of the AH and have my engineer make them into Cogspinner Goggles to DE into Large Prismatics.

When I want to farm Shards I go run heroic Mana Tombs.

In that instance I pick up several Ethereum Prison Keys as well as my badges.

Then I use the keys and DE the drops.

Last time I farmed 13 shards very easy.

The easiest way to get shards is through the AH. Determine how much shards sell for on your server (~30g on mine), then eithe buy shards that are cheaper than that or buy blue items that DE into shards that are cheaper than that. MobiusRenoir mentioned the Netherweave set which works. Also the Clefthoof boots can be cheap as well. Both are what tailors/LW's use to cap their profs.

You'll have your shards in no time (and a nice way to make cash for the future as well). I don't know of a reliable place/mob that drops blues other than instances. Perhaps getting a 'shard party' going - get 4 lvl 70's together and run the easier instances, agreeing ahead of time that no equipment will be needed, and each will get one shard. That's a lot of time and effort for one shard and you can make enough money farming to buy more than one shard in the 2 hours it takes to run Seth Halls or Bot.
