need help with auctioneer - saved variablesFollow

I've been using auctioneer for quite a while now but I've just encountered a new problem: it says the Saved Variables file is getting too big. 90% and climbing.

I know Auctioneer keeps all the data I've scanned from the AH and I don't need to know how much the common items - dusts, cloth, etc. - cost 60 or 90 days ago but it's useful to keep prices of rare items, i.e. things that have only been scanned once or twice.

Ideally I'd like to set a limit so that Auctioneer deletes the oldest price data when it's scanning something that's already been scanned 500 or 1000 times.

Alternatively, is there some way to increase the space available to the Saved Variables file or can I set a limit to the number of days that prices are kept?

you might try posting on the auctioneer forums, you probably would have better luck than posting here.

This is a limitation of the lua script language. If you have toons on mutiple servers, the file fills up even faster. the best advice is to go with auctioneer advanced, which uses different storage methods. You will lose your existing data, but it should be better in the long run. I found it better to delete the files and saved variables before I installed the new software. Enchantrix didn't work for me until I did that.

Thanks for the help and advice. I don't have multiple servers but I do have horde and alliance characters on the same (pve) server so that could affect it.

Auctioneer Advanced here I come...
