Smoke FlaresFollow

Hello all. I'm an Engineer, but I can't seem to figure out what purpose smoke flares are for. Am I missing something? Or are they simply an easy way to skill up? I see no purpose for them.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

They are not for any specific use I think.
Just for the fun of shooting a Smoke Flare.

You get a ramp, throw them around it then you ride off the ramp and pretend you're Evil Knievel

Except Evil Knievel is now dead, so try not to do this in a BG; your team might not appreciation the artistic value of your demise.

Actually, there quite useful in some boss fights when teaching new people. Such as the boss in Steamvaults, we place a couple different colored flares next to the tanks and go to them in a certain order.

its for marking spots safely and surely [rather than clicking on the minimap which is not idiot proof]

Like arcatraz's spawns, vaults tanks, sethhek [which pillar to tank at]

or marking spots where the tank should pull [with some good team work --> mech]

basicly have different colored flares to mark where you wnat who to stand in a fight

Curator is good for this. You mark the positions easily and tell people tahts where they stand dont bleady move, it doesnt stop the sparks from buzzing you.

you can throw those suckers from quite far.
