I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm much to lazy to sift through thread after thread.

How much are you jewelcrafters charging to cut the blue gems for folks?

they are charging what the market will pay, for their server.

Each server has its own economy. some are mature and swimming with peeps that have all the recipies, some servers are newer with limited supply of crafters with all the recipies.

look at the AH, look for the differance in raw to cut gems.
listen to trade channel.

get an idea of what your time and effort was worth, and put it out there. if it sell in a second, price higher. noone talks to you...drop price.

trail and error....we have no clue what server you are on or what things price for.

I'm not looking for specifics. Just a general consensus across the board. I mean you can have one gem selling for 25g uncut on the AH. Then if you have that same gem cut it's now going for 50g. So would that warrant a 25g tip for the cutter if you have said gem and just need it cut?

i dont charge anything for cutting, just isnt a market for it. many of the cut gems on ah is usualy even cheaper than uncut on the ah, delicate and teardrop living ruby is some of few exceptions, and the only ones i cut before putting it up on ah.

that said a tip is always possible to get, ranges usualy from 1g-5g.

that said all servers are diffrent so you just have to study your server

I used to charge 5g per cut, then I got so many people complaining about me charging, now I just take whatever people give me. Funny thing though, most of the time people give me 10-15g now, so they would have saved money if they let me charge, but whatever.
