My druid learned to make the holiday apple cider and I'm loving how fast it regenerates mana. Here are my questions for those who've played wow for the past years.
A. Will I be able to make it year-round? Did Blizzard make it so that it dissapears from the cooking screen after the holidays?
B. Are the mats purchaseable after the npc's in IF leave? Maybe there's some NPC that sells them year-round and I don't know it. (I'm talking about Holiday Spices, Holiday Spirit, etc.)
C. If the mats are not purchaseable year-round and I wish to make a mule character and buy a year's supply of mats, will they dissapear eventually or will they stay there? I know the actual cider has a 2 day duration but don't know if mats go poof when the season is over.
I'd really like to know if I can do any of the above since I've made some for my guildies and they all love it too.

A. As long as you have learned the recipe and have the mats, you can make them year round.
B. The Holiday Spices/Spirits are only available, well, around the holiday! Stock up before they go away.
C. I usually send my failed alt a bank full of snowballs and other fun stuff, so I know they do not disappear after the season is over.

Thanks for the help =]. Now that you mention it, I'll make a snowball mule as well. I'll get my mage to make bags for them all and stock up on mats and snowballs.

Don't stock up on the Hot Apple Cider.
There is a hidden expiration on the stuff, and on the Sparkling Cider used to make it. Both vanish in two days.
Two days after the holidays, you'll still have the recipie, but not the mats to make it, and all you made will be gone.

That's weird because I've still got Halloween candy and I saw someone on a broomstick the other day.

The Halloween Candy and the Halloween Broomsticks have their durations set to time played (/played), not real time. Although, in the next patch 2.3.2, the Halloween Candy and Broomsticks will have their time set to real-time.

yeah, it goes away after a few days. I was pissed. It's cheaper than buying filtered Draenic water, which restores the same amount of mana, so I made about 5 stacks of it, and planned on making more before the event ended.
But I logged in yesterday, and they were all gone! Grr... I guess I'll have to go back to sweet-talking mages into giving me water- or better yet, Mana Biscuits!

Won't work. My Cider decayed while I was on vacation. It was there when I logged out, and was gone when I logged back in a few days later.

I made some of this on the 1st, I did notice that the sparkling cider timer went down even if you were off line.
When I started making the Hot Apple Cider I Still had some with the 2 day timer clicking down, but as soon as that stack was full, Bam the other stacks had no timer on them.
So make sure you destroy or have a full stack of the ones with the timer before you start and the rest should last as long as any other Moldy food and drink(LOL) you have in the Bank.

This may not work, but I decided to try it anyway.
I made a bunch of cider and mailed it to an alt, then left it in the mailbox. I'll bounce it back to my main after 28 days.
Hopefully the timer won't tick in the mailbox.
I'll let you know if it works.

it might be too late now since the event is over/almost over, but i noticed that the duration times were removed from the item at some point.
this weekend i bought a bunch of the mats to stock up before the event was over...and the duration on the mats had been removed, and the duration on the crafted drink was removed...i guess the decay is a non-issue now.
