Leatherworking Glitch or Xmas presentFollow

Today I started the Xmas event and recieved my winter boots recipe. I decided to make myself a pair and when I did, I got a skill up from 365 to 366. The recipe is grey at that skill lvl and I flipped. So I decided to see how many skill points I would recieve and sure enough I lvl'd to 375 on a grey recipe!!!

I'm not sure if this is a bug or Xmas present from Santy, but for you LW out there I would probably take advantage of this cheap grind to 375^^

Here's the pic for proof

Must be a glitch as I have made several of them and not a single skillup, my LW is still stuck at 363.

Drum patterns. They're easy to get, the mats are easy to farm, and they'll take you all the way to 375 so you can start beating your head against your keyboard trying to farm the mats for the BoP epic gear that's really just kinda "meh."

I'm pretty sure that in the chat box it states "Your skill in Leatherworking has increased to 375.", and right after it shows the item that he made, [Winter Boots]. I'm pretty sure that the only way to increase the skill in Leatherworking is to create an item, so the only logical conclusion would be that the [Winter Boots] gave him a skill up.

Fail, he got a skill up from crafting winter boots.

WoWWiki reports that this glitch has happened to others as well.

Quote:

As of December 16th, 2007, a bug with [Pattern: Red Winter Clothes] and [Pattern: Green Winter Clothes] will let a tailor get to 375 tailoring, even though the recipe is grey. People have reported getting skillups every 3-6 clothes they've made.

As long as you're doing it just to sell the clothes on the AH or give away to guildies, it's not an exploit, right?

Cool, thanks. I'll have to try this on my leatherworker and tailor.

I made about 20 pairs of Winter Boots to sell on the AH and skilled up from 291 to 300 making them. The boots sold really well too, then others discovered my success and undercut me big time.

Made 10 pair last night at 328, no skill up either, but they sell very well...atleast they did until the price of wool and rugged leather shot through the roof.

Yeah, I know. I'm still working on my Sha'tar rep so I can get the drums of battle. I'm about 83% to honored, once I'm honored I can get the pattern. I have all of the other ones and they are grey to me withe exception of Restoration which are green.

I will probably be around 368 by the time I get the pattern though because as soon as two guildies get the primal airs to me, I will be making their Felstalker set. Two of those recipes are orange and one is yellow. But still, I have been after Sha'tar rep for a small while now so I can get the Drums of Battle pattern.

Anyone still experiencing the glitch? I have effectively made over 30 pair and haven't gotten any skill ups. I know they had maintenance yesterday, so maybe it was hotfixed?

Yes I got it with my tailoring. Helped me level almost 5 points in making it. I didnt realize that it was a glitch and it didn't happen to everyone.

How can LW help your tailoring? I have made 10 pair and got zero skillups, although my /gm said he did get some, maybe the first day. AS for red winter clothes, my tailor is level locked so no skill up possible.

I learned that pattern on my druid at skill 285 and it was grey to me. I still got skill ups on all but one set of boots I made from 285-297. Perhaps the chance to get a skill up decreases the higher your skill is.
#19REDACTED, Posted: Dec 20 2007 at 3:15 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You know he is right i tryed it and i found out im getting my skill up alot while it last lol since it cost so much to get the mats

Please delete your account and stop posting now. You bring nothing to the table excect mind numbing spelling errors.

Over thirty boots now, still 328/375, not a single skill up, but raking in the cash off them.

I got the boots pattern on my LW and the Red winter suit pattern on my tailor.

I had 355 tailoring and by the time I was done making and selling I was up over 365.

The LW I don't remember leveling the skill though.

I'm with the guy that was making a killing until people started undercutting. I was getting 12g for the boots regularly and then checked the ah later and some dude undercut to 6G. I can see undercutting but he cut his own throat.

Between the two patterns I made almost 1000G so I can't complain too much!

Actually, I'm still laughing over this one.

The idot from Apple!

Join the revolution Warlocks and Shadow Priests!
Your new idot will make your dots better! Plus... be a phone! Surf the Web! Take great Screenshots!

All I keep seeing is all the warlocks and SP's running around with little white boxes on the belts and white ear pieces complaining How much it cost to buy.
Also for the ones who had to have it first, 2 weeks after the item is released Blizzard will nerf the cost by 1/2!

(Ok, maybe i have a little to much free time here at work, but I thought it was funny)
