there seems to be a lot of places to farm blackmouth almost any coastline has them but it would be interesting to know where others have found a lot and to know what level they stop spawning ?

the barrens is good on the coast from what i remember and for ally its darkshore but almost any coastline or even lakes ? where you can survive in should have them

Tanaris coast can spawn a lot of pools (as well as stonescale eels, firefins etc)

STV and even the piers at Booty Bay and Ratchet can have them.

Other places probably but not sure i've noticed many other coastlines i fish at.. hmm.. never seemed to find any at Desolace Horde camp but i'm sure they must be there sometimes.
;)

Happy fishing!

I recall getting an Oily Blackmouth from the pool outside the entrance to Stratholme. That leads me to believe that once you've left your race's newbie zone, if you fish from any lake or coastline in Azeroth, you will have the possibility of getting an Oily Blackmouth.

If you're fishing in Wetlands or Westfall, they're among the best fish you can catch. If you're fishing in Feralas or AzerothAzshara, they're among the "worst" you can get. That's not bad.

A "good place to fish for them" will depend on your level and fishing skill.

If my goal were to only catch Oily Blackmouths, I'd look for schools of Oily Blackmouth along the coast of STV or along the Tanaris shoreline.

Edit- Proofread is my friend :-( TYVM ohmikeghod for the obvious.

lol.

Yeah, I was catching a lot in Wetlands on one of my alts, so I'd agree with there for almost any level of Alliance over 10.

i have found (with expired alts), that southshore suits all fishing needs. Farm the coast there and you get a bit of everything, until the higher levels that i have no knowledge of.

I catch a bunch up and down the shore near Southshore all the time.

Just about any coastline after you leave the newby zones has them in quantity. If you provide us your level/faction and whether you are on a PvP or PvE server, I'm certain that the appropriate one for you can be determined.

They're everywhere really.

On Horde side two of the best places to catch them are (1) the coast at Zoram Gar Outpost in Ashenvale and (2) the inland lake in Ghostlands.

What are they good for?

Upgrading stuff like skull of Guldan +1. But you need 3 times the amount to get Skull of Guldan +2. And you need a Crystal of pink revolution.

No wiat wrong game!

Its used by alchemists to make black mouth oil.

The oil is used to free action potion, water breathing, swim speed potion.

It would have been used in water walking potions but those werent put in cause shamans had it and blizz didnt think it was a good idea.

I think enchanters use it for + fishing on gloves.
