Shorter Auctioneer Scans and othe stuffFollow

So I just updated Auctioneer Classic to the 5.0 pre-release after 2.3 came out. Since then my normal 12-15 minute scans have reduced 3-5 minutes. It says it has scanned everything, and it is giving me good buying lists, but I just wanted to make sure this was common and hopefully a new feature.

Also, does anyone know a way to make Auc-Advanced not display the scan text for every single search? I run my Enchantrix list, but it gets pushed out of the window because of the 7 lines of data that advanced wants display with each search.

I am also annoyed that alt+click no longer auto searches, but I did discover that shift+click will fill the text for me...time saved from not typing stuff out.

The faster scan times is due to Blizz changes. They are sorting on the server side now and the changes they have made greatly increases the speed of auctioneer scanning.

I don't know a way to keep the list from being pushed up and you missing a few enchantrix percentless items. The good news is to just get what you can on the first pass, then run a quick scan again and a new list of the few items you missed. The scan is so fast now, you can do a second scan faster than you used to be able to do just one.

Glad you found the shift+click. It isn't as convenient as the alt+click method was because you have to click the search button. However, it seems quicker and more accurate. With the old alt+click method I often found myself clicking 3 or 4 times on the same item if it didn't come up.

Yea...it would drive me nuts when I alt + click on an item and it was not there anymore. Then I would click the next item in my list and it would just hang there. I would have to close the AH completely and come back in to get new items back up.

For now I have removed the advanced folders and I am just using the classic suite for now. I may get them back though since I know that the faster scans are not a glitch and they are going to stay that way.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm sticking with the clasic suite unless I hear the new one starts doing enchantrix percentless listings. I don't want to lose that feature.

I upgraded and percentless works fine for me.

BTW, is it possible to reverse the sort order for percentless?

What I did to prevent my enchantrix list to be pushed out is to create a new tab in the chat panel and let the enchantrix result show up in that seperate panel. if you do /enchantrix you get the exact commando you have to give bit its something with show in it.

Great, I'll check out the new one.

Also, the separate chat window sounds like a winner. Smiley: nod

That's the whole point of advanced. It scans the AH as you look up stuff, making sure that the items you care about the most are the most updated in your database. If you don't like the way that works, then you might want to stick to classic. Or there might be a way to turn off the text messaging, but if there is, I don't know it.

I don't have a problem with it doing what it is supposed to do, I just don't care about the statistics of the scan. I would much rather it do its thing in the background and let it be, instead of purging 7 lines of text into the chat and bumping my purchase list out. It would be nice to just have a command to show or hide those statistics.

According to the Advanced FAQ there is currently no way to disable the reporting text, so it sounds like the additional chat tab it will be. This will also help my list from being bumped by guild banter as well.

I don't use Auctioneer or any of those types of add-ons. As a gear-dependant warrior, how much help would these be to me? I have recently (level 47) been running dungeons to get my blue gear.

Auctioneer is not really geared towards buying gear (for use) outside of telling you if the item you are looking at is at your server's average price or not.

The main use I have found for auctioneer is to scan the AH to build up a good economic profile and then use that information to post my auctions at reasonable prices that keep me from selling stuff dirt cheap when I can be making a lot more money. The other use is to scan, buy stuff to DE and then sell the enchanting materials.
