What level ores are you looking for? There are scattered nodes in HP, just ride around and look. The true veins of good stuff lay beyond the starting areas and need a flying mount to be really time efficient.

In my opinion, the best places for thorium in the game are Eastern and Western Plaguelands. Each of those little vales in EPL as well as the two scars holds a Rich Thorium Vein, as does the cave in northeast WPL and Hearthglen. A quick circuit around those zones usually nets me well over 2 full stacks of thorium, plus a bunch of dense stone and assorted gems. Of course, the mobs in EPL are high 50's but that shouldn't be a problem to anyone over 60.

What is a purpose for farming at 63 lvl? Imho, there are no point for.
You can obtain decent amount of gold by doing quests.
Disadvantage - you dont have flying mount, then you loose huge amounts of time, riding the land mount, considering that you use Gatherer add-on (or another).
My advice - don't waste time for gathering materials, lvl up your toon, then purchase flying mount, then farm for epix flying mount.
Even if you are a blacksmith and want to make your own weapon, I would advise to think twice about that idea. You can get good weapons from dungeons and from quests, wasting no time for mindless and boring vein mining.

Almost anywhere is good for mining. I would recommend getting Gatherer to help you keep track of where you mined nodes and such.
