More drum patterns have been added to faction rewards, the reputation requirements for existing faction drum patterns have been decreased, and the skill range for drum patterns has been enlarged.

Huzzah! 375, here I come!

I'm 10 points from 375. I only have one pattern that is still orange (Feklstalker Bracers). Does anyone know yet what the required skill level for the new quivers and ammo pouches are? I'm hoping for a new trainable pattern high enough to get some skill points. I think the last one I learned from the trainer was 340.

I have a lot of things to check out from the patch before I get back to leveling leatherworking, but this is looking very good. I’ll just have to do a bit of digging and find out if there are any factions I can solo for patterns.

The patch notes mentioned that the patterns would be available to "Grand Master" leatherworkers, and that there would be a second set of new quivers and ammo pouches available again.

I'm guessing the first set will be around the 350 area, with the second set at 375.

Well, I picked up all of the new patterns from the trainer and the others mentioned in the patch notes except the 24 slotters that you need to farm for. Every pattern is gray to me except the glove reinforcments and it is yellow.

Frankly, I don't think I'll waste my mats on such a craptastic pattern without a skill up guarantee. 14 Primal Earth, 18 Heavy Knothide?!!!! Are you kidding me?!

If you were to buy the mats, the breakdown for me would be: (mind you that this is based off of my server prices, mileage may vary)

14 primal earth @ 9g each = 126g
18 Heavy Knothide @ 3g each = 54g
4 Runethread....meh
Total in mats = 180g for one glove reinforcement for 240 armor, that my rogue wouldn't wear and would be lucky if someone bought it off of the AH for 20-40g. That's a 140-160g loss.

I'll stick with Heavy Clefthoof boots that is still yellow as well, at least they sell decently.

Don't get me wrong. The new stuff is great and all. It's always nice to have some new stuff to make. I made myself a 20 slot LW bag. It's actually kind of nice. It will hold all of my leathers, scales, hides, threads, and even motes and primals. I just wish something would have been added for the people who are stuck at 360+ and trying to get over the hump to 375.

What about the Heavy Knothide Armor Kits? They'll probably be green to you by now, but they only cost 3 Heavy Knothide Leather, and once they turn gray, you can switch to drum patterns.

Heavy Knothide Armor Kit is already gray. I picked up one of the drum patterns as well and it too is gray. The one I didn't get, because I'm just shy of rep with Mag'har, is 350 skill so it might be yellow when I get it. Wish I could remeber which one I picked up. I'm at work and suffering from a severe case of CRS. (can't remeber s#$t)

I still have a few yellow patterns and Felstalker Bracers are still orange,so I can get some skillups. I was just hoping for one more trainable pattern to help get to 375 instead of some crappy armor kit that I doubt many people will want and takes a crap load of mats.

On the other hand, LW did get a decent boost that's been needed for a long time. So I'm happy about that. Now if Blizz will only give me sockets for my Epic Elemental set. :)

This is the drum pattern that I'm thinking of. Yellow at 365, which is when the armor kits go gray.

Just made all the hunters (over 50 anyway) in my guild some 20-slot ammo pouches and quivers. My leatherworking is stuck at 325 right now due to saving for my level 60 epic mount, but I had to invest a little extra money to make the new leather bag. The bag really excited me! But it did mean I had to drop 25 gold for another bank slot (as all my bags in there now are Netherweave or better, so soulbound).

It's been a good couple of days to be a leatherworker.

Farli’s leatherworking is at 362 or 363, I forget. But I’ll need to get a few more points before I can use that pattern. And I have nothing save for those expensive boots or that new glove patch that I can skill up on. Oh well, once I get there his skill points will much faster. Its certainly a welcome addition.

The glove armor kit obviously isn't a skill up item - that's something you make for your toon maybe once or twice in it's lifetime. My druid has his t4 gloves so since he usually tanks for the guild, that means he's getting one of those patches.
