I was just wondering if any kind soul would like to inform me where the best places to farm motes of fire, water, air and earth are. It would be greatly appreciated thx for the time.
Motes of fire, air and water drop off the appropriate elementals. The most convenient place to find them is on the Elemental Plateau of Nagrand. It is so convenient a place, however, that you may have to compete with other players for the spawns there.
As an alternative, try the air elementals in the mountains of Shadowmoon Valley for motes of air and the water elementals around Haala in Nagrand for motes of water. For motes of fire, try mining lots of Fel Iron.
Motes of earth drop for miners all the time. No point in farming them...if you're not a miner yourself, you can buy them dirt cheap on the AH.

In case you do not have mining, you can get motes of fire from elementals and imps in the northernmost section of Blades edge just before Netherstorm.

elemental plateau is good, but often busy. search for "mote of ~" for other mobs that drop them.
farm what you can most efficiently gather (in terms of gold-per-hour). sell your extra for gold to buy the other ones.
For motes of water I farm at slyimr lake right by shatt. These mobs are level 62 (vs 70ish at the elem plateua). They are much faster to kill and the spot is not as heavily camped. Even with one other person you'll never run out of mobs. The drawback is being underwater. To be efficient you'll need some type of underwater breathing potion, and you have to swim which slows you down. I would probably average 3 primals/hour there. Sometimes more.
For motes of fire I go to skald in Blade's Edge Mountains. This area is camped, but not as much as plateau. If you get lucky and you're alone you'll never run out of mobs. The only drawback is you have fire imp's there who will aggro you also. The drop rate is good there too.

When i farm Motes of Water, i go to Skettis. At Skettis, there are Skettis Surgers which are level 70. They hit pretty hard if you are a clothie, but they have around a 34% Drop rate ( According to Allakhazam ). I can usually kill them in 20-30 seconds ( I'm a hunter ) and i can usually get 5-6 per hour, 8 if im lucky.
Herbalists get loads of motes of life. Infact i have like 15 primals from the last few weeks.
I farm my motes of fire in the middle of SMV. There is a lava lake and there are plenty there. Usually have to fight of a few other farmers but since there are around 20 elementals there, it's not a big problem. I alsmost never run out of mobs to kill and must usually stop to drink.
