I'm a 34 Horde Warlock and need help with wool cloth. I used the wool I did find on first aid and have also used all the silk I need for first aid. I have a crap load of silk in the bank too.

Well I did some calculations and I need like 120+ wool. I've been farming in Hillsbrad and offering people lower level help if they pay me in wool. However, this isn't really working. Most people don't need my help and the drop rates arn't that great.

So I was wondering if there was a better place to farm wool. It doesnt have to be a better drop rate, it could be weaker mobs or somthing like that. Just remember, I'm Horde, not Alliance.

Those dwarfs at Bael Modan fortress. They drop some regularly.

I don't know horde that well but if your leveling setup is similar to alliance then try any humanoid mobs in the silverpine region. For us its the same thing only in Westfall. Mobs in the upper level range for that zone should drop wool.

...here is what you should be doing.
the Humanoids that will drop wool for you are probably all grey...(no EXP for killing)
the humanoids that drop silk for you are probably green or yellow or red to you.

go quest or grind the guys that are dropping the silk for you. you will be getting exp for the kills, and looting silk among other things.
once you have a bag full of stuff, or at least a few stacks of silk...head to the AH.

list the silk stacks....people will buy them you will make money.
take said money back to this very same AH...and...wait for it....

buy the wool you need.

instead of waisting time farming grey mobs or whatever for lower level materials, you now have killed/quested/grinded to get EXP...drops...cloth (of any level)...you have now vendored the grey drops, and sold the cloth you cant use or dont need...your pockets are fat with cash...so spend it on the wool you need.
end of story.

Also, I don't know the prices on your server, but on mine, linen cloth goes for about the same per stack as wool does. So (and keep in mind I am alliance), I like to farm the undead in Darkshore. When I was doing this at level 40, I could kill them very quickly and their linen cloth drop rate is the highest I have seen. In about 30 minutes of farming I had around 10 stacks of linen cloth. Sold that and used the gold to buy the cloth my warlock DID need for tailoring. So yeah, sometimes it's better to farm and sell the easier stuff and use the money to buy the stuff you need from my experience.

Here's a cloth farming guide that might help.

First, rate down to Suul for advertising that same useless site inside of what - ten minutes?

Second, to the OP: Deadmines.

Yes, I am aware its Alliance territory. If you're on PVE, no worries! If you're on a PVP server its still possible, here is how I got there:

Swim from Grom Grol up the western coast, past that troll village, until you see a set of docs with a red flagged human on them. Head up there and move on into Moonbrook. Go into the house containing said Deadmines.

Kill everything in there.

They drop wool like crazy and are fairly low level, I think 18 elites but I might be off.

Problem with this: at least on my server, silk cloth sells very cheaply or not at all. Wool cloth sells for a good amount of gold and sells very quickly. For instance, it is not rare to see silk selling for 60 silver and wool cloth for 3 gold.

Really? On my server, linen cloth sells for so low that it's actually almost more worthwhile to vendor it. Wool cloth sells for the most out of any kind of cloth that's not a special type like Fel Cloth or what have you. It even sells more than Netherweave.

My experience with Deadmines is about 60% of cloth being linen and 40% wool. I'll second the Shadowfang Keep recommendation. That place is about 60% wool. 30% silk and a little linen.

Yeah, wool sells for more than silk on one of my servers also. Wool is about 1G a stack on The Venture Co. whereas silk is 50S. Its weird. So I farmed my own wool and bought silk. <shrug>

I remember my blood elf paladin farmed out wool from Deatholme (Dar'Khan's place in Ghostlands) and capped first aid at around lvl 20. It could work, but that was a while back and I don't really remember the details. if that doesn't work, I'll third SFK.

lol, on my server wool sells for 3g while silk sells for 70s (linen goes for 15s/stack), hell even mageweave is cheaper than wool for some reason.
