Tailoring - PatternsFollow

Hello,

I'm sort of new to this game, and I'm a little confused about Tailoring and patterns. I've come to realise that other patterns than those that are standard drop from mobs.

What I want to know is, which are the standard patterns you get with tailoring at lvl 1 through 70?

Thanks

The only patterns you 'get' are a few basic ones when you pick Tailoring as your profession. After that you have to pay trainers to teach you others, as well as the ones that drop from mobs and in chests.

Some of the more common patterns are available at all traiiners, but as you get more experienced, certain patterns can only be found at certain trainers - for instance a lady in the basement of The Slaughtered Lamb inn in SW for Alliance, and Timothy Worthington in Theramore (also Alliance).

When skilling up Tailoring, some patterns are more efficent than others. I've recommended it in the past, I still recommend it, Lootables is a great guide if you are looking to figure out which is the most efficient recipe to use for skill-ups -

All the patterns you should need to level will be available from your tailoring trainer. The "special" patterns that drop from mobs or that you find in chests, may or may not be better than anything you can currently make at the lower levels.

Once you get to the higher levels and start doing more instances, you'll find that patterns for MUCH better items drop from either the instance mobs or the bosses.

Then when you get to the Outlands and start the "rep grind" (there are MANY different factions to improve your reputation with) you'll find even BETTER patterns available from quartermasters with whom you have the required reputation level.

Over on the bar to the left of this page, scroll down to "Trade Skills - by trade" and click on Tailoring. That will give you a list of everything you are able to craft with the profession. If, underneath the name of the item (eg Red Linen Robe), there is a statement <Pattern: Red Linen Robe> then it is not available from the trainer and you have to find the pattern to get it. Click on the pattern and it will tell you where you can buy it (if it is listed in white letters) or where it drops or can be quested.

Edited for additional information:

The vendors do not always have the patterns - some of them are limited quantities and you may have to check back with the vendor several times before you get lucky enough to buy it.
